Here are alist of things that you can do to make your life a lot easier.

Eggtrick: Whenever you see an egg plant on the screen, do alittle butt slam and it will either spit the eggs faster or spitout four at a time. Handy if you are in a rush.

PtooiePokey and Giant Daisy: Whenever one of these is on yourscreen then butt slam on the ground and they will be knocked out.You can make it pa st easily then.

Findglob: He is found on Sluggy the Unshaven's Fort. makeyour way up the first flight of stairs, when you reach the nextbunch of clouds with stairs in them then shoot the first one. Itwill release a small staircase. Now climb to the top and leap tothe left. You should make it onto another ledge, make it acrossthis section and you should reach a pipe. From here you have twooptions. Go right for points or go left to find Glob.

Themap screen cheat: On the map screen, hold down selectand press X,X,Y,B,A. You get a screen where you can choose somebonus levels. Some of them are two player as well. Using thischeat allows you to stock up on items.
