The tricky
puzzles that make up Star World are actually holding a very special surprise.
Maybe if you can find the special secret exits you will find out what it
is. Also, the Yoshi clan have been trapped here by Koopa, including the
yellow, blue and red ones. Maybe they know where to go!
Level Type Vertical Yellow Block Cave
Dragon Coin 1 Stand on the right hand side of the first set of yellow blocks and you should be able to see it. Press A to smash down into the ground.
SECRET EXIT to Star World 2 When you are on the second set of yellow blocks, move to the right and smash down to find the key and lock.
Dragon Coin 2 Move to the left of the second set of yellow blocks and smash down to find the next Dragon Coin.
Dragon Coin 3 Move to the left of the third set of yellow blocks and smash down to find the third Dragon Coin.
Dragon Coin 4 Once you have got past the set of yellow blocks with Stars in, the next set has another Dragon Coin on the left. And that's it, once again Nintendo have failed to put in the final Dragon Coin.
Red Yoshi The sweet little dinosaur rests close to the bottom of the level. Feed him five enemies or one Star to make him a big Yoshi that you can keep.
End Tape The end tape is through a Warp Pipe at the bottom of the screen. Carry little Red Yoshi through it and you will get an extra life, but lose the dinosaur. The End Tape doesn't let you go anywhere. You have to find the secret.
Level Type Straightforward Swimming
Blue Yoshi Probably the handiest of all the Yoshies. He sits at the beginning of the level. If you let the Star drop onto him then he will grow instantly.
A Motley Bunch of Lives Grab the star at the beginning of the level for yourself and swim right as fast as you can, knocking out as many fish as you like. Keep finding ? Blocks and hitting them for more stars. Eventually, if you kill enough fish they will start turning into 1-UPs and by the end of the level you could have raked in an estimate of fifteen lives, possibly more.
SECRET EXIT to Star World 3 When you reach the green pipe out of this watery grave, swim under it to find the key and keyhole.
End Tape Go through the Green Pipe and you can find the exit. It doesn't take you anywhere, find the secret.
Level Type Lakitu's Puzzle
End Tape In view several blocks from the start. Don't go through it unless you are going for 96 points on the Save select screen, it doesn't take you anywhere.
Yellow Yoshi This dust stomping Yoshi can be found near the beginning of this level.
SECRET EXIT to Star World 4 Now pay attention! Pick up one of the blue blocks and stand at the left hand side of the blue block staircase. When Lakitu is up there, throw the block at him. He will get knocked for six and leave you his cloud. Ride it into the air and through the gap in the grey blocks to find the key and keyhole.
Level Type Platforms over Star World
Red Yoshi The second Red Yoshi in the game is standing on the cliff edge at the start of the level.
SECRET EXIT to Star World 5 and Front Door Eventually you will reach a group of grey blocks suspended above some ! Blocks. If you have found the Green and Red Switch Palaces then you can go down and smash the block to find a key to put in the keyhole next to it.
End Tape After a quick ride on some grey rotating platforms you will find the end goal. This won't take you anywhere as usual.
Level Type Platforms over Star World
No turning back This level is pretty much designed to make your life a living hell by forcing you forward without much choice in turning back. Cross the grey falling platforms and you will end up on a ledge with a P-Switch on it. Hit the switch and then hit the ? Block to make a coin snake appear. Because of the switch it will turn into a handy bridge, so go right and make sure you land on a solid platform before the P-Switch runs out.
SECRET EXIT to SPECIAL AREA This is the biggest secret in the game, so worm your way over the first set of grey falling blocks and across the pit until you reach a set of four yellow blocks over the bottomless pit. Now bash the third one to find a vine which leads to a set of yellow ! Blocks. Run across and, provided you have all of the ! Palaces, the route should be an easy one. The trail will end with a key and a keyhole, but you may need to run and slide under some things to get there. This will take you to the most secret world of all, SPECIAL.
Yellow Yoshi After the second set of falling grey blocks will rest this.
End Tape The
end tape is at the end of the level. Nothing special really. It will join
up the final line of the Star Road.
