Welcome one and all. Here is where your foibles are answered. Actually, I don't answer anyones foibles but here is how to play this game and get good at it.

Basic Moves

Wanna run fast? Hold down B while walking and your Mario Brother will break into a sprint. Li ke this he can run over very sm all gaps without falling down. Also, if you jump while running you will jump much higher.

If you hold the A button down for longer then Mario will jump higher.

Bad guys on top of bricks can be bashed from below if they are standing on blocks. Don't bump into any or you will die.

Kick a Koopa Shell and it will fly off in the direction you kicked it. It will knock out any enemies as long as they are on screen. Each time you hit an enemy you get points. If a shell hits two enemies then the points will double for the second one. This goes on until finally you end up like this...

100-200-400-800-1000-2000-4000-8000-1-UP

Basic Other Stuf f

Pick up a green mushroom for an extra life. You can also collect 100 coins for an extra life. Killing many enemies in quick succession also bags you a 1-UP. (Depends how many points each one is worth)

In every castle and any level in world 8, try not to die because you will always return to the beginning of the level. In any other level though, you will start about halfway through the level (supposing you get that far that is.)

End of Level Mayhem

At the end of each level you must ascend a staircase and jump onto a flagpole (except on castles of course.) There is a way to get big points here. If you do a running leap off the top of the staircase you will be able to get 5000 points at the top of the pole. Also, if you hit the flagpole when the last digit of the timer is on a 1, 3 or 6 then you will get that number of fireworks. Each firework is worth 500 points. To get 6 fireworks every time, do a running jump from the top of the staircase when the last digit of the timer is 9. The time it takes to run and jump the gap means you will get 3000 points added on to the 5000 points at the top of the flagpole.

Differences on All-Stars

Yes it's true, Mario All-Stars has changed this game slightly. Now the characters jump differently (just a tad.) Also, Player two can pause now, so you can't annoy your mates halfway through a level over a big jump by pausing it on your controller. Finally, Player 1 plays a level then player 2 plays a level. In the original it went; player 1 plays a level, and another, and another until he dies. Then player two does the same.
