Hi, I am your new owner Maria Mario. Today I am going to go from my past to my somewhat boring present (Nothing I can do about it, that the way all Journals are started from my experience). I was born in 1989 on July 20. My Dad is Mario Mario and my Mom is Peach Mario. I live in the Mushroom Kingdom with my parents (Duh!). My Mom is queen and my dad is king he used to be the well renown "Super Mario", hero and protector the Mushroom Kingdom a while ago. When he got married to my Mom, who used to be Princess Peach Toadstool, he retired. I'm deciding to take up the super hero business (or Herione in my case), even though my mother insists I stay at home like a "good princess." For cryin' out loud! I have super hero blood flowin' throughout me, and she wants me to stay home. My dad from when I was three started to teach me how to do certain moves until I was seven (that's when my Mom brainwashed him into thinking that I was in danger ALL THE TIME. Which is technically true, but they don't have to know that).
It's the same way with Uncle Luigi and Aunt Daisy, their daughter Lizzy, who is my cousin (oh here it goes) because dad's brother is Uncle Luigi. Lizzy is kinda adventurous and wants to take after her dad in becoming a heroine, Uncle Luigi also wants his daughter to be a good princess by the way, BTW I forgot to tell you that Lizzy is princess of Sarasaland, and comes visit me all the time. Also my dad's best friend Yoshi who also has a daughter named Yoshina who is my best friend and a princess too. She is the Princess of Yoster's Isle. Unlike her dad she can speak English instead of just Yoshish because her mother Birdo speaks English and taught her to speak it, just like my dad taught me to speak Yoshish (and Italian).
My parents are a little over protective of my cousin and me. When we are at our own palace in the Mushroom Kingdom and we forget to call them, they send the whole army over to check on us and make sure the Koopalings haven't attacked us. It's so annoying. They know we can take care of ourselves I mean we could be just as powerful as them, with training. I can still punch and kick harder than anyone else! My friends and my cousin say I should be a heroine and I plan on it. Mainly because I'm not afraid to do crazy stunts. Lizzy says I take after my dad, she says I am outgoing and REALLY brave, I also unlike my dad like to read and have a little peace and quiet. Yoshina is semi-brave, semi-shy and the slightest bit sarcastic but is a big help when we need it and Lizzy is shy, smart, semi-brave, and kinda exciting. I usually get them both in trouble because I like adventure and excitement. Yoshina and Lizzy don't always get along. They sometimes fight about silly things. At least they are there for me, I mean it would be hard to go on all of those adventures by myself, not to mention they have saved me a lot of times too. The one thing that they can't even disagree on is that we are a lot like our dads in a million ways but we are very different from each other. Even though Yoshina is a lot like her mother too.
Well, talk to you later,
Maria Mario
P.S. Lizzy and I call ourselves the Mario Cousins.
Last night Lizzy and I spent the night on Yoster's Isle with Yoshina. Of course about every 30 minutes there is a guard checking to see if we are there. They act like we are about to explode or something. I hope we get an adventure soon, just because I want to prove to my parents once and for all that I can take care of myself. My mother is trying to get me to turn into a girly-girl, you know "oh my gosh, I got a speck of dirt on my dress" or "my brown-blonde hair is so perfect" kinda girl.
Oh yeah that reminds me, yesterday I meant to tell you what I look like and what qualities I got from my parents, disregarding physical strength. I have Brown and blonde hair that is a mix between my parents, and I have mood eyes, but I don't know where I got them. For example when I'm mad, they're gold; when I'm sad or scared they're blue; when I'm upset, anxious, or embarrassed they're brown; when I'm happy, content, or in love (don't mind that one!) they're green. I am tall like my Uncle Luigi (weird, Huh?), I have a small nose and kinda big ears, and I also am into parties like my dad but also enjoy quiet sometimes too.
Well, anyway back to today, we took a tour around the island because it's basically the only thing to do. I have already seen the Island a million times but we go anyway. Afterwards we went out to eat and then went home, Lizzy and Yoshina came back with me. We decided to stay in our personal castle and managed to go the whole day without getting in trouble (WOW!!!), until I called my dad to check in (didn't want an army ordeal again). When I came home my mother discovered the scratch on my leg from an attempted somersault. I am SO grounded.
Right now I am pretty mad at my dad. Five years ago he was supposed to teach me more moves including the instant somersault and never taught me because of my mother. I have made out a plan to get my dad back to his old self. The next time the kingdom needs saving I'm going to stay home like a good princess, and when they (my parents) come to Lizzy, Yoshina, and me we'll make a deal: they let us become heroines, and dad has to teach Lizzy and me new moves to protect the kingdom. The Mushroom Army usually fails to win, so they'll need us, and if they don't use us they'll use our dads and then my dad will hopefully turn back to the way he used to be. Lizzy thinks this is the craziest and most non-sensible notion she had ever heard, but I'm desperate!
Talk to you later,
Maria Mario
Today all three of us discovered we could do something new. Yoshina, Lizzy, and I were on Tall Tall Mountain so Yoshina could practice her flute, and Lizzy her violin. While Lizzy was playing her solo a Goomba Scout came down the mountain, and when he heard Lizzy... BOOM he went straight to sleep, before I could point it out. After Yoshina woke him up again, she wanted to see if it would go to sleep when she played her flute, but to no avail it didn't work. Instead it did something quite different: The Goomba lunged at Lizzy and hit her right after Yoshina began to play. Lizzy luckily had a 1-Up Mushroom handy, so she was able to quickly recover. Five seconds later the Goomba was a pancake.
While Lizzy and Yoshina continued to practice their instruments, I decided to hike up the mountain. Upon reaching the top I discovered an odd red box. I, out of curiosity of course, broke it open and a red 'M' hat fell out. I just figured it was my dad's hat... until I noticed it had wings, so I decided to try it on. Before placing it atop my crown I remembered what Lizzy always said: "curiosity killed the cat." I pondered that for five seconds, and then recalled "satisfaction brought him back." Thus, I plopped it on my head. I cannot easily explain in words what I had felt just then: it was if I had just opened an extremely awesome present or came up with a really good idea. I then knew exactly what to do: I jumped three times... and I began to fly through the air. How amazing it was! I flew down to Yoshina and Lizzy, who were really surprised to see me flying delicately like a bird. They said, "WOW!! how are you doing that?" I landed in front of them, and exlained to them about the odd hat I ound. They then tried it on but weird enough, it didn't work at all. I guess I'll have to ask my dad about the hat. I told them I was going to hike back to the moutaintop, and that they should meet me there when they finish practicing. While I flew upward, I realized that I could downsize the red box and stick it in my pocket. They met me a the top of the mountain and we went home.
Remember that plan I thought up? I've decided against it. Lizzy said it might put some people in a lot of danger, but I knew she was willing to go for it. She was just going to use her usual excuse "It wasn't my idea, Maria made me do it!!!" The made-me-do-it part isn't true but the idea part is.
Well talk to you later,
Maria Mario
My dad and I got in a huge fight, our first one ever! I asked him about the red box and he refused to tell me. He said I should have known better to try on the hat, that I could have hurt myself, and then got completely on my case. Then to make it worse I couldn't help but yell back that he didn't used to be this way, and I turned out just like him, since he's retired the Mushroom Kingdom is virtually doomed without someone protecting it. Suddenly I noticed realization pour into his face, like he broke out of some weird mind-control scheme and snapped back to normal. Wow, a lot easier than I thought it would be! ♥ He told me I was right, and he would work with me no matter what my mother says. He also told me that he would try to snap Uncle Luigi out of it too. I couldn't help but cry-- I was so happy he was back to normal and so he decided to explain to me about the red box. He stated that the hat was called the "Winged Cap", and they were made specially for him and so they only work with his offspring. I can't wait to see Yoshina and Lizzy tomorrow.
Yippee!! ♪
talk to you later,
Maria Mario
Daddy snapped Uncle Luigi out of his brain washing too. They both went to play golf together. When he got back he told me everything:
"Nice shot Luigi!"
"Thanks, bro."
"So Luigi... When are you going to teach Lizzy how to defend Sarasaland?"
"I'm not. It's too dangerous for Li-Li to defend the castle, let alone our world. I'll leave that to you and Maria."
"Come on Luigi-- we're retired. Think, if they don't defend the world who will? I mean without their protection, our kingdoms are virtually doomed, and either way with or without our help they are going to try to defend our world. We should just teach them to defend it right and to keep themselves safe. It's up to us to teach Marie and Liz how to do this stuff or they will get themselves killed."
"It's Maria's fault Lizzy is doing this, Mario."
"You must understand it isn't Maria. They are just like we used to be. They're like our mirror images. Lighten up a little! They need help and with or without you I am helping them. Are you with me or not?"
"(sigh) Ok... I'll help."
"And for the sake of us all... Luigi, go back to the way you were."
Cool huh? So Lizzy and I will begin our heroine training soon... I can't wait. But it may have to continue next summer since I'll be in my second year in Mushroom Middle School, and it's Lizzy's third and Yoshina's first. It is the best school I have ever been to. Yoshina is going to love it, and I can't wait to see my friend Kiddy again.
My dad just walked in and told me we are visiting Yoster's Isle, with Uncle Luigi and Lizzy. You know what that means. Tomorrow Yoshina's going to be a very happy Yoshi!
Well talk to you later,
Maria Mario
Today we were at Yoster's Isle. Dad wanted us to get some good sleep because he would start training today. Lizzy, Yoshina and I really wanted to go to the Yoshi Military field day, so of course we snuck out we dressed up as tourists. Lizzy and I put our hair in buns and tucked them in our hats, and I put the bracelet that my dad gave me along time ago in my pocket. Lizzy put her Sarasaland Diomond ring in her pocket, that her dad gave to her. I can't forget my usual sunglasses, as I am world reknown for my 'mood eyes.' Yoshina just put on a different saddle and said we need to avoid her dad.
We had a great time until we let our guard down and ran into Yoshi (oh no!!!) but for some reason he didn't bust us and told us just to have fun, so we went on. After a while it was getting VERY hot, so we got water balloons and played with the other Yoshis. Suddenly I got hit by a balloon and fell over, my braclet spilling out of my pocket. A whole bunch of gasps and lots of eyes on us all followed right after. We had been revealed (does everyone know about the jewelry or what?) and soon everyone began whispering Princess Lizzy, Princess Maria. All Lizzy managed to say was "Oh-My-GOD!! We're in trouble!" Next we all (including Yoshina) were bombarded with questions and people asking for autographs, then Yoshi brought all of them to attention and asked for them to leave us alone unless they were going to treat us like normal people (MY HERO!!!!). So they did. Next Lizzy went to the bathroom, all I know is it took her forever, and do I mean FOREVER! Then we ate lunch. I really didn't eat anything but a donut. After lunch, we headed over to the playground and played "Koopa of the Ground." As Yoshina was it, I got an awful cramp in my stomach, and I guess I passed out.
The next thing I know I'm on the roof of Wario's Castle. He turned to see my eyes open and gasped in surprise, " How the Heck did you live?!?" What Kind of question is that? Then Lizzy ran over and hugged me, and I yelled "WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON!?!?" Wario being the idiot we all know he is, told the whole story.
"Well I decided to kidnap you and keep you for ransom for the kings. When Lizzy went to the bathroom I put out a clone that stole Lizzy's ring. The Yoshi-girl came in and saw the two Lizzies, she spotted Lizzy's ring on the clone and was thus tricked into thinking it was the real one. The Clone actually convinced the Yoshi-girl that the real one was the imposter, leading the Yoshi Guard to be called in and take her into custody. I bailed her out, sedated her and then brought her back here." He smiled in satisfaction. "You on the other hand, were supposed to give me another result. During lunch, I had the clone stick some poison into your donut in attempt to kill you. You pose too much of a threat. After you fainted, I guess, the clone knocked Yoshina out and brought her here. Your fathers should be here soon to take your places."
"Yea-hoo someone has tried to attempt murder on me, I'm so special!" I said sarcastically. Then suddenly our dads burst through the door and begin to kick butt. After doing every move they could possibly do with us watching carefully (We learn very quickly, if we see we can do, not perfect, but we can so it). Wario, being beaten to a bloody pulp, crawled over to the cage we were in and, pulled out a ray gun and pointed it at my head (why does he want me dead so badly?) He said the only way we would live is our fathers would trade places with us. They did. But sorry Journal, I am not going into huge details so in other words by watching we learned every possible moves to learn and used them on Wario.
"How did you learn all that?" he said. "We watch to much T.V." Lizzy replied, as I kicked him in the stomach, and then Yoshina swallowed him into an egg. "I'm Mario's Daughter-- what did you expect? Chopped liver?" Right after, and we posed like Charlie's Angels: Yoshina touched the tip of her nose with her tongue saying "Eea eea", Lizzy took the wazzup position saying "Here we Go!", and I did a peace sign, saying "I got it!"
What a day! We finally split from Yoster's Isle. The L's going on diresction, the Y's staying put. By the time we got home and broke the silence of the trip, my dad and I both had a lot of questions. As I explained he looked down right horrified through the whole story, but was extremely impressed that we learned all of the moves by watching them, he also said Yoshi definently changed his mind about us, he definently will give Yoshina more trust. I also had the question "WHY THE HECK DIDN'T I DIE?!" But for once he had no idea. I guess I have to find out later.
T2UL,
Maria Mario
Today has been strange. For the first time since I've been born, it rained in the Mushroom Kingdom, which usually means that there is something wrong. Lizzy thought it was normal, but then she remembered weather change is only normal in Sarasaland. After it got sunny again Yoshina and I were on the monkey bars in the playground talking.
However when I turned to talk to Lizzy, she had disappeared! Right were she was (on the swing) was a trail where a body had been dragged away, and there was a ransom note that said: "We have your fiend, Iv you iver vont to si er again give me princess Mar-e-a, signed Wario." All I could think of is what does he want with me (and where did this guy learn to spell)? We followed the trail and it lead us to a hideout (how obvious is this?!). Then I opened the door, and Wario lunged at me from inside, but missed. I screamed, yes, screamed. What would you do? So what? Don't make a big deal about it; this hasn't been my best day. I told Wario I would trade places with Lizzy, who was knocked out. After I traded places it was all too simple: Yoshina took out her flute and played, waking Lizzy up. They let me out and then we kicked Wario's butt.
We left back to the playground to practice somersaults but I started to completely mess up. I felt really bad because Lizzy and Yoshina were making a big deal about it (yeah stunt-devil Maria messed up), but I'm only human. See, that's a reason I envy Lizzy: she is the favorite of the family, she's pretty, smart, can play an instrument, is really good at sucking up, and never gets in trouble. But if she messes up no one sees it as a big deal, but if I mess up it's the end of the world. I also am always in trouble, as much as I try not to get in trouble, it's just the way I am. I wish we could trade places. I don't know how big of a deal they would make if they knew I was scared that Wario might succeed in killing me. I may be brave, and can do crazy stunts, but I am only 12. Is it just me or is this journal turning into a soap opera?
Well T2UL,
Maria Mario
Today we didn't do much. I was going to sneak out into the Mushroom Kingdom and go to the common church, but I didn't wake up early enough. So I just went out with Lizzy and Yoshina, again it began to rain but we didn't think of it. We wondered around a section of the TMK military, where we found old barracks and used weaponary. We spent the remainder of the day making up our own sign language (we figured it would help to communicate in battle) and playing "Koopa On The Ground" at Yoster Isle. Yoshina got really mad at us because Lizzy and I accused her of cheating (although after we proved it she admitted that she did). We made up afterwards and we promised never to lie or cheat unless it was an emergency. By the time I got home I was soaked. My dad covered for me and said to my mom he let me go outside in the rain. I love him so much!
Well T2UL,
Maria Mario
Today started out fantastic and ended horrible. Lizzy, Yoshina and I spent the day walking around and playing "Koopa On The Ground," and tag, where I mainly sat and rooted the person who was being chased. We also teased each other with names I am "O Fearless Leader and Brave One," Lizzy is "O Family Favorite and Smart One," and Yoshina is "Cute and Blue One." When I came home, my mother as sitting on the couch looking worried, so I ask her what's the matter. She tells me that my dad has led The Mushroom Kingdom army into battle against the Goomba, Goombix and Koopa armies! I call Yoshina and Lizzy on a three-way line, and I learn that Uncle Luigi has led the Sarasaland Army into battle, and so has Yoshi with the Dino Army. I hope that our dads come back alive. You know what, I know they will come back, they've dealt with these fools a million times and have won so... what am I worried about?
T2UT,
Maria Mario
Today has been boring. My dad is still not back from war. Yoshina, Lizzy and I spent the day playing "Koopa On The Ground" until Yoshina went to flute lessons. So Lizzy and I just discussed the war. She informed me that progress was great, and we were winning. (YEAH!) However, my Mom and Aunt Daisy went out into the war to nurse, and I'm being baby-sat by Toad! Uck, I'm being baby-sat by someone who is 4½ feet shorter than me, and intends on watching my every move. Isn't there something wrong with that?? If you answered no, you couldn't be more wrong.
