Mario Stamp sheet
- All I can say is why isn't Mario actually on the stamp? Mario was probably the most recognizable video game face of the eighties, both to gamers and parents alike. Yet on the actual stamp we get to see two little kids playing a non-descript Atari style game. Where's the justice? Oh well, at least Mario was featured on this "First Day Collector's" sheet (This is obviously very important to stamp collectors). The sheet features Mario's classic leaping pose from SMB2 (a good choice, I must say) along with the tagline "Mario from Nintendo's super Mario Bros. was one of the first Video Game characters to be recognized". The sheet also has a postmark from the stamps first day of issue, January 12th 2001, and a picture of a very odd looking game players at an arcade cabinet. Oh, and it also has the Mario-free stamp. There will definitely be only a limited number of these made, but it remains to be seen how in-demand and collectible they will be. If your at the post office, you might as well pick one up.
