Current street price: $25.00 with Vitual Boy
Save: None
Size: 2 play modes, eight selectable characters
Players: 1 player
ESRB Rating: K-A
Story:
None to speak of. As far as I can tell, the Mario charactwers decided to get together and play some singles or doubles tennis. Similar to Mario Kart
Mario's Role:
Mario is one of the characters in the game. He has the average stats, as in SMK.
The system:
The virtual boy, while having less than 2 dozen games, had an astonishing 3 with Mario characters, giving it the highest % of Mario games to game on the system. The virtual boy was doomed, though, because of the high cost ($180) for a portable, the quick realization of 3-D only as a gimmick, only 2 colors, and no 3rd party support. Even THREE great Mario games couldn't save this ill-fated system.
Enemies:
Ummm, there really are no enemies in the game. The opponents are your enemy, again, as in SMK
Ending:
The is no ending either. Umm, when you win or lose a point, your character makes an expression. DK Jr.'s is the best.
