After being exiled from Mario Land in SML2, Wario uses his remaining assets to fly to Kitchen Island, where, supposedly, a huge treasure is hidden inside a mountain. Wario, greedy as ever, collects treasures as he progress to the mountain and avoids the hostile natives
Mario makes a
small cameo at the end (see the ending down below)
Wario was introduced in SML2, but has a starring role here. He is Mario's evil twin, with a more twisted mustache, purple suspenders, a yellow shirt, and a greedy streak from here to next week. He loves money above all, except maybe Princess Toadstool. (NAH!) Wario gains attributes via hats, that give him the strength of a bull, the power of fire, or just make him big. These hats give him an edge over other heroes.
Lot's and lots of them. The interesting thing is that NONE of them alone can hurt wario. If he touches them, they flip over helpless. However, most of them have spears or spiny coatings, and if Wario touches them, he loses a life or a hat.
When Wario finally reaches the mountain and blos it up, he finds a huge statue of, Princess Toadstool?!?!?! He's overjoyed until Mario comes in on a helicopter and cranes away the staue. He's then sad until he finds the lamp, and the genie inside. The genie then gives Wario a castle depending on how much $$$ he has.
