Jay Resop's 10th Anniversary Statement

Hm, a statement...a statement... Nothing in particular is coming to mind.

How about this...

I wish I could impart onto the SMBHQ viewers with something that would totally fill them with awe and glory on this great and amazing day, something inspirational that would change their lives forever. But then again, this is a Mario Bros. site afterall. A site based on a video game series about a bunch of fictional characters who are not real. And will never be real. No matter how many pairs of Mario underwear you own. So nuts to that.

Perhaps I could leave them with something totally and completely shocking. Something that will make this 10th anniversary of SMBHQ particularly memorable and something that would be talked about for another 10 years. Something like, Jay was quitting school, and going to devote his life full time to NC. Or that Jay was being hired by Nintendo to develop a Neglected Characters video game. Or that Jay had finally gotten a real life, complete with a real girlfriend, and was going to live happily ever after. But we know that none of those are true and will never happen. Or would they...?

So I guess I shall try to leave you with something humorous. Something that will make your sides hurt, something that will make you bust a gut. Or two. Something to make the sides split, belly ache, and tears flow down your face in sheer joy. Gee, those all sound very painful. Maybe you're better off if I don't make you laugh with this statement. Of course, I'm also very lazy, and very uninspired right now for a good joke, so I think you're out of luck in that department anyway.

So, my SMBHQ viewers. After 10 years of working on SMBHQ. After 10 years of trying to come up with random material for the site, and in particular, my own personal corner of SMBHQ known to some as Neglected Mario Characters, known to others as NC, and known to still others as the Mario Worship Shrine, I shall leave you with this...
