Mario Telephone- Here's a sure way to add a sense of tackiness to an otherwise refined and dignified room; a huge blue (or red) phone with Mario popping out of the side. This phone, made by the Bondwell company (anyone know if this is a good name in phones?) was made around the time Super Mario Bros. 2 came out (you can tell by the lettering on the box). The packaging notes that this phone is a "collectors item", which shpoudl be obviosu to anyone who sees the picture of Mairo on the box, a purple turnip in one hand, a phone in the other (wireless even... ahead of his time, that's Mario). The weird white lettering on the side makes it even more "collectible", I guess. I don't think the value of this will skyrocket unless phone collecting inexplicably becomes the hot new fad. Still, a nice present for a kid.
