Big news everyone. Nintendo is recalling all label pins that were sold or given away from April 2004 through November 2007.According to Nintendo of America the label pins contain unsafe levels of lead in the paint. Don't worry, they're promising to replace non-contaminated pins for free. So if you were given or bought any pins between the months above than you should check out this page on Nintendo's website. - Report By Gage at 5:28 PM Monday, April 28, 2008

It appears a remake of Paper Mario (N64) is heading to the Nintendo DS. Unfortunately there's no listing for North America, only Japan. It'll be released there in July this year - no other information is currently available. We can only speculate a DS version will be released here sometime in the future. - Report By Gage at 1:06 PM Wednesday, April 16, 2008

As if we could forget the Brawl disc read errors in March... People playing Mario Kart Wii in Japan have been experiencing disc reading errors. This is not a different problem from the Brawl issues. I predict there may be problems when the title is released in North America on the 27th, so a link to Nintendo's repair page might be handy. - Report By Gage at 10:56 PM Thursday, April 10, 2008
Nintendo of America announced at the media summit a new Mario baseball series set to come the Wii's way. Currently we only know it's coming to the Wii and what it is called: Mario Super Sluggers. - Report By Gage at 5:08 PM Monday, April 07, 2008

This is a post from Wal-Mart's blog: We have been hard at work on something really big and now we can share it with you. Readers of Checkout will no doubt recall the first ever midnight event at Sam's Club which we did last month around Super Smash Bros Brawl. Well, we have been working on something since that time that we can reveal today and the first place it is being announced is right here on this very blog! There was also a rumor that the Nintendo World Store will be holding, although there has been nothing official released from Nintendo. - Report By Gage at 5:06 PM Wednesday, April 02, 2008
In case you're someone who believed my news post yesterday I have some REAL news for you and for everyone... it was a joke! Good one, eh? Probably not. Look out for Sean's archive of this year's joke a bit later. - Report By Gage at 5:16 AM Tuesday, April 01, 2008
VIZ Media has licensed the Mario manga, previously released ONLY in Japan in the 1990s up until 2005. Now the manga will begin to be serialized in Japan but will begin in the United States! Unfortunately there is not a lot of information out right now, but sources have learned old chapters will be published in Shonen Jump (US) first, then new chapters later. We are waiting for Nintendo to comment on the latest news. Overall, Japan will be ahead of us in chapters but what is important here is that the United States will finally see the Mario manga in English! - Report By Gage at 10:47 AM |
