New information had surfaced from GoNintendo and NMag GamePro magazine of some new features that would be hitting Mario Kart Wii once its released. The information being snaking will be available, all drivers have the same vehicle, controls are those of Excite Truck, Baby Peach and Boo will make a debut as drviers for the first time, and there are 32 courses (16 new, 16 old).Did you get all excited for a second? Sorry to break it to you but a Nintendo spokesperson commented on the new information and called it a rumor. "Nintendo has not announced any further information on Mario Kart. We've spoken to the magazine and it's just pure rumor and speculation on their part." You know GoNintendo is a good site for all the small news information even if it means throwing us into confusion, such as the latest Mario Kart Wii information. GoNintendo is reporting they got word from a GameStop Senior Game Adviser that Mario Kart Wii will "be on shelves in April" and will cost $49.99. GameStop has begun taking pre-orders for Mario Kart Wii and have stated it will be released on April 2, 2008. People are skeptical as the release date is "soon" and less details have been given out about the upcoming title. It has been revealed in today's Smash Bros. DOJO updates that World 1-1 (of Super Mario Bros.) will be a playable stage. Occasionally the stage will shift to World 1-2's setting.
