Earlier in the month you probably remember the first level of Donkey Kong being made out of post-it notes, correct? Well, Mario is getting a similiar look but this time with fridge magnets. Check out the images on the creator's page...

Before you go you should note that this took 12 hours to make according to her April 27th post.

Just like to mention that ONE Mario figure will be available once the small Wii toys are available at Wendy's. Sorry that I made it seem like the whole series may have been coming back but, no, so if you want to add this little old Mario to your collection, keep checking back at your local Wendy's.

Note: The current series of toys are still going on according to their website but that could have changed. Unfortunately, I do not live near a Wendy's to keep you up to date on when Mario will be given out with Kids Meals... That my friends is up to you!

Felt I had to post at least something... Sean was beginning to show me up with the latest news post, heh heh! But anyway while I give a victory to Sean I might as well mention that, unknowing to myself until last night, both Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario RPG have been listed as confirmed for the Virtual Console.

It looks like I scooped Gage on this one. :P

UCSC has recreated the first level of Donkey Kong using 6400 post-it notes.

It's worth a look.

Yet another rumor to kick off the Mario news day. There's been a recent list of games that may be headed to the Virtual Console and one just so happens to be Mario Open Golf (NES). This has already been confirmed for a VC release in New Zealand, Australia, and Europe.

Remember the news post about Circuit City offering a $20 gift card if they did not have Super Paper Mario in stock at 2:00PM? Nothing more than a trick. Here is what a victim had to say to Kotaku...

"I get to Circuit City and stand in the customer service line. I see they’d erected a little sign reading Super Paper Mario sold out. I’m bummed that they don’t have it but I think at least I can get a $20 giftcard so I can get the game later at a discounted price…. I ask him about the offer in the weekly ad. He says I don’t get a giftcard because they did have the game in stock-earlier… He said I would have only gotten the giftcard if their supply never came. SHADY!!"

Stores... they always stick it to ya' somehow.

Winifred Philips, a composer for the music studio, Generations Productions LLC, has recorded a tribute for the Super Mario Brothers in commemoration with the company's fourth anniversary. Most notably, Philips has recorded a "Go Mario!" track to celebrate the over 20 years of entertainment with Super Mario Brothers, originally released in 1985.

Accompanying Winifred in his works for the album, "The Best of the Best: A Tribute to Game Music", is producer Winnie Waldron. Their accomplished tracks will be available on May 1, 2007 at Game Music Central.

If you would like to hear a 30 second clip please click here.

Thanks to David Tractenberg for this news!

A new rumor has surfaced thanks to this picture and the text of "Awaiting data upgrade...". Nothing's official but some people are thinking this may lead to connectivity of the Wii and DS for this game. We'll keep you posted.

Circuit City is promising people that if they do not have Super Paper Mario in stock at 2:00PM then they'll be giving people a FREE $20.00 gift card. (Yeah, I posted this over an hour that this promise would go into affect).

Today we have the top 5 game sales on each game console world-wide (I'm only going to mention North American releases). For the Nintendo Wii, WarioWare: Smooth Moves jumped out of the Number 4 this week and landed in the third position. New Super Mario Brothers came out at #2 this week for the DS.

Now we arrive at a sales chart for Japanese Nintendo sales for the month of March. Yoshi's Island DS has received 455,391 in cumulative sales. Going down the chart we notice New Super Mario Brothers have a combined sales total of 4,277,098. And finally, Mario Kart DS has 2,025,833. - These were the top 20 games in March as well.

Wanted to share with you the PAL European box art for Mario Strikers Charged Football. Also in some other and perhaps belated news, 1Up's game page for Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii indicates a release date of January 1, 2008. This is highly unconfirmed but for changes and official announcements keep it here at the News section!

What a huge surprise that the whole Luigi Mario game was none other than an April Fool's joke. Hopefully next year I will have a better one. You might as well just count on Sean and other's jokes for this year, great job!

We all know Luigi as being the second player in most games from SMB-SMB3 and so-on but he did in fact go solo in the 2001 Game Cube title “Luigi's Mansion”. However, today marks the announcement of Luigi Mario which is met to be another RPG series but wait, where's our favorite main character? No he is not locked up and “missing” anywhere he is just taking some vacation time at home.
