An interview between The Guardian and Bob Hoskins, the actor who portrayed Mario, says that the movie was a nightmare for him. Here is what he had to say about it:

"The worst thing I ever did? Super Mario Brothers. It was a f***in' nightmare. The whole experience was a nightmare. It had a husband-and-wife team directing, whose arrogance had been mistaken for talent. After so many weeks their own agent told them to get off the set! F***in' nightmare. F***in' idiots."

Aaaw....that sucks. I cant understand why everyone hated it though. I have to admit, it wasn't what I expected and it wasn't as good as it could have been, but thats a but harsh.-Leia

Yeah, I've wathced it 279 times. It's great!

I thought it was a disgrace to the SMB name, and I think Bob has a ton of talent, so I'm glad he agrees that it sucked...

But, if someone with REAL directing talent ever decided to do a better movie based on SMB, I'd still like it if Bob portrayed Mario, as he did a fantastic job.

If I watch it i think it will suck But you have ALOT Of talent.
