He was an orphan, taken in by Peach, and trained by Mario. He was named Malek. He became a great warrior. When he was segregated by the mushroom people, though, he joined Bowser. In Bowser's army he had toxic waste spilled on him. It mutated him, giving him the ability to change his shape, or "morph". That's where he got the name Morpheous. Although he had great powers, the koopas treated him like a freak. This caused him to defect from Bowser's army and create his own army to wipe out the koopas and the mushroom people.
