I know that at the moment you must be screaming at your computer, wondering what the heck I am talking about. Well, the fact is, Shyguys are just illusions! In fact, these illusions were generated long ago by a forgotten clan, which is known, surprisingly, as the Susan Clan. Please, refrain from yelling at your computer, I am getting to the point. Now, the Susan Clan was just this lame group on the Yoshi Island in Dinosaur Land. The fact was, they were just a bunch of Frogs named for their common ancestor, Susan Froggy. The name Froggy Clan was taken by a group down the street from them, whom they were rivals with. Now, the Susan Clan and the Froggy Clan got in a large gang war, and the Susan Clan wanted some sort of monster to fight the Froggy Clan that would have great strength. They tried hiring monsters throughout the island, but none would cooperated. However, one day the Susan Clan found a magikoopa named Leonard. Leonard would not join them, however, he would create several illusions to aid the Susan Clan. His illusion was a group of what looked like ghosts, called Shyguys for their masks. The Susan Clan was delighted and bought as many Shyguys as they could. The way the illusions work is this: they simply walk around quite mindlessly, and whatever they appear to run into is so struck by their appearance that they (first of all) notice it and (second of all) think it is real thus making them believe they must have been hurt by it. The illusions worked for a while... until a small side effect occured. After a while they started materializing into Snifits and Snufits, which are indeed VERY real and VERY dangerous. The Snifits and Snufits, with no clear objective, beat the crud out of both sides, the Susan Clan and the Froggy Clan. When Leonard came back to check on the Susan Clan, he realized he had no cast a spell to control the Shyguys. For the time being, he cast a spell to make them obey his new master, Baby Bowser, and changed his name to Kamek so that none of the Frogs would know who he was. Later, after the Yoshies defeated Baby Bowser, the many bosses of the island\'s contol facilities came to complain to Kamek about all of this. One of the bosses, however, was Prince Wart Froggy, a member of the Susan Clan. He recognized Kamek as Leonard and got very upset with him. He came up, however, with an evil plan. He made Kamek produce as many of these Shyguys as he possibly could. Then, with them, he went to Subcon and conquered it as King Wart, the master! And as for Kamek? He is chained up somewhere in Subcon, and that\'s why he never appeared in another videogame. When Mario and his pals defeated Wart however, Shyguys were set free without a master once again... and so now they roam moast of the lands... and now the illusions have started pretending to have very interesting personalities... such as Game Guy, the Shyguy who runs a casino in Mario Party 3. Whatever. So the only REAL shyguys you ever see are the ones that have materialized into Snifits and Snufits. So here\'s the real deal. A very long time ago, what we know today as Shy Guys were actually a very powerfull team of wariors. They were known for their mysterious ways to defeat their foe. Well one day they got into a conflict with king of the Musroom Kingdom and they went to war. (Back then they actually had an army.) The war went on for many years, and both sides lost nearly all their men. Toward the end of the war, some of the strongest shyguys named Jakario led his elite team of Shy Guys strait to the king to try to win the war. An epic battle of the ages took place right in the throne room. Jakario eventually made his way to the king. He took off his mask and was about to use his mysterious power to destroy the king. Luckily, one of the king\'s bodyguards attacked Jakario before he could ignite it. That gave the king time to cast the curse on all the remaining Shy Guys making their masks stuck to their face so they would never be able to use their mysterious powers again. Jakario quickly called a retreat, and the war was over with that. Jakario and his troops still did normal ninja stuff, but was never as successful as before. The king also put a spell on anyone else who knew of the mysterious power of the Shy Guys to make them forget about it. The king took the secret of how to break the curse to his grave. Over the generations, the citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom forgot about their ninja ways and just called them Shy Guys because of the masks. (In the past they weren\'t called Shy Guys.
