Mario and Zelda are Nintendo's two flagship franchises. Nintendo has relied on these two game series since the very beginning. But, do you wonder if, somehow, the worlds of The Mushroom Kingdom and Hyrule have a connection?

Clue 1 - Mario In Zelda

Most of the evidence of a Mario/Zelda Connection can be found in the Zelda cases

The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past
The first known Mario sighting was seen in Link's SNES adventure

As you can see, in a few of the houses, there is a nice portrait of Mario hanging on the wall.

What's this? Are these Chain-Chomps I see?

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awaking
There's so many Mario connections in this game, you'd swear it takes place in the Mushroom Kingdom.

He calls himself Tarin, but that looks like Mario don't you think?

Don't believe me? Take a look at this artwork (he seems to like Mushrooms as well)?

Yep, Chain-Chomps do make good pets. Like Bow-Wow here.

Hmmm...It seems that Wart changed his name to "Mamu"

Another look at "Mamu"

Mama! Can I have that Yoshi Doll?

OK, he may not look as angry, but the character "Sale" sure bares a resemblance Croco.

If it wasn't weird enough that this game has Mario appearances galore, our old friend, the Goomba makes an appearance as well.

So do Piranha Plants.

Yes, Boos also make an appearance.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
After the Mariopalooza in Link's Awakening, thinks were sadly greatly toned down in Link's first N64 outing.

That Talon guy sure looks like Mario. And look at that Bowser necklace.

Also, look at how this Ingo guy looks like Luigi.

Even though it might be a coincidence, here is the Peach-like Malon.

It seems the King of Hyrule is a fan of Mario, since pictures of the gang can be seen from the courtyard.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
With one exception, the Mario sightings, in this game, are nearly the same as the last.

I wonder how much the Happy Mask Salesman is asking for that Mario mask?

Like Talon in OoT, this Bartender looks a bit like Mario.

Also, the Ingo clone, Gorman still looks like Luigi.

Don't forget the Malon-like, Romani and Creamia, who bare a resemblance to Peach (also the Bowser Pendants return)

The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
The latest in the Mario sightings came in Link's current Game Boy adventure.

Yes, those are Bob-omb's Link has encountered.

Look in the air! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Lakitu!

Clue 2 - Zelda in Mario

Sadly after the smorgasbord of Mario sightings in Zelda games, there is only but a single Zelda sighting in a Mario game:

In Super Mario RPG, Link can be seen sleeping beside Mario in the Rose Town Inn.

Clue 3 - Smash Attack

Mario and Zelda characters can be found in the Super Smash Bros games. But, since those games are out of storyline, they do not really count in any connection.

So, why is it that Mario characters have been spotted many times in Zelda games? Why was Link snoozing in the Rose Town Inn? Is there a connection between the Mario and Zelda universes?  Here is what you thought:

NAME: yoshimickster

thoughts: There are several reasons for the Mario&Zelda game connection. 1."merchandising"

Mario is so famous that some of the shops in the kingdom of Hyrule have made merchandising rights on Mario and his friend's behalfs.Such as pictures and paintings of Mario characters'Bowser pennants and yoshidolls.

2."Character likeness"

Some of the people in Hyrule look very similar to Mario and his friends. Two words:HUGE FANS.THey idolize Mario and his friends so much that they made their outward apearances simalar to Mario and his friends apearances.Oh and just for the record Malon,Romani, and Creamia look more like Princess Daisy not PRincess Peach.

3."Monster resemblance"

Some of the monsters in Zelda games are the exact same monsters in Mario games. There is a very simple explination, they need money. Not every monster in the Mushroom kingdom could get jobs for Bowser,so they went to Hyrule overseas to work as evil monsters in Hyrule. And Chain Chomp were used by King koopa ,but he first bought and trained them to be gaurd dogs. And in one game their was a chain chomp being used as a pet, such as one female pianta did on Isle Delfino in Super Mario sunshine. And we all remember when Wart was seen in a Zelda game only his name was Mamu, there is a simple explanation to this to.When Mario & friends defeated Wart he was kicked out of Sub-con.He then changed his name to Mamu so noone in Hyrule would know of his humiliating defeat.

4."Link in Super Mario RPG"

Link was seen sleeping in the Rose town inn in Super Mario RPG.The most obvious reason for this is that Link just happened to be in the Mushroom kingdom and needed to take a rest.

NAME: Super Mario Fan

thoughts: Acording to Wendy O Koopa at Lemmy's land. com ( http://www.lemmykoopa.com/lk21/lk21-3-1.html )The Mario and Link world are two diferent dimensions.

NAME: Link

thoughts: I see Mario all over the place. It's kinda creepy really. He probably gets into my world using a pipe or something. I wish I could warp like that. It'd be a lot easier to find Ganondork that way

Subject: Super Mario Mysteries NAME: Luigi III

thoughts: My thoughts are...

A TEAR IN THE DIMENSIONAL RIFT HAS SENT THE CHARACTERS INTO THE OTHER DIMENSION THEREFORE HAVING PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT THEM AND THEN THEY EVENTUALLY FOUND A WAY BACK, BUT THEY GOT CAUGHT IN SOME DIMENSION IN THE MIDDLE ALONG WITH OTHERS THEREBY DOING THE SMASH BROTHERS TOURNAMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...or in the Mario universe, Zelda is a game, and vice versa.

NAME: Zach, (extraz)

thoughts: Chain chomps are pets in both universes for some reason.

Tarin and Talon, I'm sure lots of people are short fat, and have mustaches.

Ingo and Gorman, I'm sure lots of people are tall and skinny and have mustaches.

Malon, she doesn't look much like Peach, just the hair style, which is a pretty average hair style.

The Mario Paintings are a popular portrait of Talon wearing a funny hat... yeah I know lame.

The Bob-ombs are just a freaky variation to Bomchus.

The Lakitu is just a coincidence in evolution.

The Courtyard poasters are just poasters the King of Hyrule gets in Nintendo Power.

The Mario enemies in Link's Awakening are there because the Wind Fish dreamed about them.

Wart is in Mario's Dream in SMB2 (SMB USA) and Mamu is the Wind Fish's dream. Wart/Mamu is an evil being who haunts dreams.

The Mask Salesman can travel dimensions, (seen in the end of MM when he returned to Hyrule in a poof) In his travels he must have found Mario and took some of his "essance" and made a Mask.

Link decided to take a rest in Rose Town on his way to Hyrule or some other playce.

OR maybe because all these are cameos, because they were made by the same guy (Shiggy)!

NAME: guy

thoughts: There are two reasons why maybe. First is that most of the times people like to make other games that resembal other games that they made .They do that in tv too(such as the simpsons and futerama);to make a bigger profet in their companies ( going back to video games), and it is always fun to put in camios in their new related game. Second is that since Mario and link are freinds ( in some way) they created a portel from the mushroom kindom to Hyrule. That is why there are so many mario and link camios in both of their games.

NAME: Jordan Tregea

thoughts: Maybe the whole Legend of Zelda univorse takes place in the Mario universe? Maybe it takes place WAY WAY WAY back in the Mushroom Kingdom when creatures weren't as cute and cuduly... I mean, we have seen cars and other weard gismos in Mario's games...but all we see in Link's is..."magical" things... Talon an Ingo could be "past" Mario and Luigi.

NAME: luigio

thoughts: I think that Bowser and Ganon used to be college roommates, and they are sending ideas back and forth to each other. that is how goombas got into Hyrule, and Ganon somehow sent Link into the Mushroom Kingdom.

NAME: Kildea

thoughts: Maybe Mario and Link's worlds are on the same planet, but different continents. Who knows.

NAME: Shadow Mario

thoughts: Damn right there's a connection.

This is a theory being tossed around lately. And no, I'm not on crack, pot, OR weed.

So, here goes. The big bang that made our universe? Just two universes pulling apart. Kinda like mitosis (cell division).

Difference is, each universe isn't the same. Note how each game has mostly midievel governments, magic, and a, per se, "diverse" range of creatures. But note how one has a cheerful evironment, and the opther's kind of dark. Just play Majora's Mask.

So, damn right there's a connection.

NAME: Chompmaster

thoughts: Nintendo likes their cameos. But I'd guess other than that blatently obvious answer that the Mushroom Kingdom is probably a continent and Hyrule is another continent on the same planet.

NAME: Gold Rush

thoughts: I think it's simply because they are made by the same company.

NAME: megaman-fan

thoughts: There is a sacred book called the book of fantasies which caused such items as the bowser pendant and the mario mask to appear. However, link's awanking was a dream and a foreshadowing of what is going to happen, so don't worr about that. There are no plot holes, these aren't the droids you are looking for. and compare Peach to Malon. Different hair color, diferrent clothes, i rest my case.

NAME: megadude855

thoughts: Ummm...i have no idea. I have two conclusions. Its either (A) or (B). A)I think that nintendo just stuck that stuff in there because they can. They own both of the seiries so why can't they do so. It gives the players something to notice and add enjoyment to the game. B) But the other thing is the bowser pendents. As if they part of the koopa clan or fans of Bowser. But then there's Link sleeping next to Mario. As if they did live in the same world. Maybe it is the same world. THE SAME PLANET. Even though hyrule seems to take place long ago and the mushroom kingdom seems a little more modern. It can be like to today on planet Earth. Certain countries like Japan and the U.S.A. seem to have a little more money and stuff than the country of Ethiopia in Africa. It might be like that with hyrule and the mushroom kingdom. Hyrule is the Ethiopia and the Mushroom Kingdom is the US. Hyrule is introduced to some of the culture of the mushroom kingdom and thinks of Mario as ! some sort of cultural mascot. Such as Smokey the fire safty bear or Tufty the traffic safty sqwerl. Or maybe they think of mario as a celebrity. As for the chomp-chomps and the goombas. The chomp-chomps may have been imported as exotic pets and the goombas could have been to get rid of inconviences. Such mountain lions with rabies devouring the souls of random people. With link being in the mushroom kingdom, it could be for a vacation or something like that. Its hard to decide but I'd have to go with thought (A).

NAME: Bowser Jr.

thoughts: They're simple cameos, made by the creators so the players could have a good laugh about it. Nothing more.

NAME: Ivan41

thoughts: the true is that Nintendo was to lazy to do new things for the Legend of Zelda they just only put things like dugeons and swords

NAME: 22nd Fan of Pan

thoughts: I belive that Nintendo likes making cameos from Mario in Zelda games

NAME: Martin-E

thoughts: Chances are that the two universes are collected similarly to how the Mushroom Kingdom is connected to Earth.

NAME: Aarow

thoughts: The worlds are probably connected.

You forgot to mention another Zelda appearence in a Mario game: a Triforce piece appears in Mario & Luigi as the Great Force.

NAME: Anthony

thoughts: Well,In SSB Staduim You Make It Like There Best Best Best Friends.

NAME: Nny27

thoughts: Majora's Mask has proven that alternate worlds have similarities...why not appearance based similarities between the dimensions where the Mario and Zelda franchise takes place?

As for Mario (and crew) or Link appearing in each others' games it's probably not really them but people that (in our eyes) resemble Mario or Link or Luigi or whatever... IN SMRPG maybe the "Link" in Rose Town Inn is some guy who just dresses like him. The pictures of Mario and the gang at the castle could be (though it's a stretch) popular characters from Hyrulian theatere. Use your imagination...

NAME: Valigarmander

thoughts: I've played Soul Calibur II for the GCN, and it features Link as a playable character. The story mentions that Link entered the world of Soul Calibur to resolve a conflict that troubled his own world of Hyrule. If Link traveled through dimensions to save his world from the trouble that came from the world of Soul Calibur, then why not enter the world of Super Mario? Maybe Link has some business of his own in Mario World. And perhaps heroes from Mario World (Mario? Bowser?) entered Hyrule and left their mark. It makes sense to me. Maybe there will be a Mario/Zelda crossover game in the future. That would be cool.

NAME: oliver ryan {kirby knight}

thoughts: perhaps theare is an interdimensional warp between the mushroom kingdom and hyrule. So mario enemies stumbled across the warp and got sucked in,they then saw creatures like (mario, peach luigiETC) so they attacked them as they whould attack mario. Also link has had many adventures and had opened the warp aswell. And did you also know that KIRBY has also been in ZELDA:links awakening. He had possibly flew to hyrule (from popstar/dreamland)on a warpstar or came acros another warp.Alternatively when link found the triforce (in a link too the past)he whished that characters from his mario game would come to life.

NAME: Dimension Hopper

thoughts: Although Link barely leaves Hyrule, there are a few exceptions:

After A Link to the Past, Link went on a mysterious trip. This trip was probably to find Mario, hence the scene in the Rose Town in. On his way back, Link was pulled into his own dream realm where he witnessed things that he saw in the Mushroom Kingdom (Link's Awakening). This may seem reminescent of Sub-Con, Mario's little adventure of memories affecting his dreams.

Mario, on the other hand, has been to many places. It is no wonder why he shows up all over Hyrule and Termina. He was probably the best plumber they had ever seen, until Bowser showed up in Hyrule and tried to kill him... Then again, there are thoes two families (one in Hyrule and one in Termina) that supported Bowser...

NAME: SuperMarioClock

thoughts: I think that there might be a cave some were in Hyrule that lead to the Mushroom Land. Many people have been over there and the people might have caught some of the creatures from over in the Mushroom Land and brought them back to Hyrule. Link also might have been found the cave and went exploring in the land and went to a inn there to rest. Mario must have also might have gone to Hyrule to find and stop Wart.

NAME: Jonathan

thoughts: Okay, first of all, you guys read too much into this stuff. There is a good chance that these were just done for a few laughs... That's it. However, these clues do make one think.... I personally believe that, if taken literally, the Mario and Zelda worlds have to be intertwined (ESPECIALLY because of Link's appearance in SPRPG. However, it seems strange that every once in a while,Mario wouldn't be called upon to fight Ganon, or Link to fight Bowser. I think the best explanation would be that Hyrule and the Mushroom Kingdom are in the same world, but perhaps different "continents" within that world (after all, you never even HEARD of the Beanbean Kingdom until Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga. So, Hyrule could just be in close proximity to Mushroom Kingdom. Also think about this... There were no traces of Mario in The Wind Waker, which is after Hyrule is destroyed and the world is flooded. So, that could be past Mario's time. All the Zelda games that had Mario had m! ore to do with the older storylines with the Master Sword and such, so that could just be around Mario's times. Perhaps all of Mr. Miyamoto's games are intertwined into the same world.... It's just that games like Star Fox and Metroid take place on different planets in Mr. Miyamoto's "universe" of gaming, whereas Mario and Zelda are from the same planet within that universe. That's my theory, though now I'M reading too much into it. Thanks, guys....

NAME: Batdude

thoughts: -Well the Mario and Zelda universes each are one and the same. Mario and friends are heroes of the Mushroom kingdom so there like celebritys in a way so its kind of ironic 2 be embraced by other kingdoms considering there status thru portraits and dolls. Talon is probaly Mario's under cover identity seeking 2 help other heroes and it would make sense 2 have a bowser chain because Mario probaly fount it in one of his adventures in one of bowser's castles. For the bartender look alike of talon who's supposedly a look a like of mario, mario probaly is looking 4 a normal job for between saveing peach. For the mario enemies in Zelda games probaly there every where messing with everybody and since there not much of a threscue the the day from 3rd rate field villains compared 2 Monsters like Bowser. For links awaking Wart is there but remmeber thats in the dream world.

NAME: Garrett

thoughts: Well, one of the pipes in the Mushroom Kingdom leads to a hollow tree in hyrule. Because the pipes can travel to many worlds. the whole Lon-lon family- mario likeness is just a coincidence. I think Link in SMRPG was just a sleepy traveler dressed as an elf.

NAME: Slashing Wolf

thoughts: Mist likely there are abunc of portals that can tranport you through every videogame universe. The enemys who were in the Zelda games? They jumped into a portal. Those Yoshi dolls and posters/pictures?The Mario gang must have been to Hyrule.Wart probably went into hiding and renamed himself Mamu temporaly. As for Talon/Malon/Merlon,their aprances and the Bowser neclaces are probablt coinsidences.Finnaly Link thoute he needed to rest and seeing as how he doesn't have a bed he came to the Musroom Kingdom thtough a portal.DUN DUN DUN!!!

NAME: JaredThaJa

thoughts: Well I'v alwaus suspected the all Nintendo universes are realy on Big Universe, Just like in the Comic Book Business D.C. and Marvel both have their charecters crossing over all the time.

I think that is definitly Wart in Link's Awakening it makes perfect sense since it was Link's Dream just as SMB2 was Mario's Dream.

NAME: BadIdea

thoughts: The only valid connection is Link in Rose Town. So, possibly, yes, they Could be connected. P.S.What I said means the only "true" appearance of one in the other.

NAME: Nick

thoughts: Ooh, here's another one.

Yes, there's a connection. But here are some questions: Why? How? Why the **** am I askng you? All good questions... especially the last. :^b

Okay, here goes. The why question? Nintendo just HAS to show their mascot. And where else to put it but their second-best selling series (zelda)?

Good reason, eh?

Here's the how: knowing Nintendo, there's probably some sort of warp leading to Hyrule from the MK (most likely as a pipe. why? again, mascot.) Mario/Luigi (the latter probably being used, cuz Mario won't get his fat ass off the couch) probably go there regularly to promote Nintendo (in the form of Mario and friends) for "goodwill" (bribes... usually around 67 cents, though they first offer 1 billion. hehe).

And lastly, how does Nintendo do this? A very good question, idiots- wait, I mean geniuses... yeah... hehehe...

They do it because of their "superior programming skills" as they call it, but we all know that they just head to Brooklyn, jump down a sewer, and bring a clean shirt. Then they head over to that house that gives no credence to Luigi, and start haggling.

Now, I know that I said "lastly", but that point brings up a new point: what the **** does any of this have to do with Mario being all over the place in Zelda? Here's the answer. Nerd.

Let's review: Nintendo wants to advertise themselves in their own games (idiots). So, they head to Brooklyn and do the damn pipe thing to head to the MK. They head over to Weege's place (hehe...) and bribe him. He head to a pipe leading to Hyrule (most likely) that's probably in one of those damned warp zones and posts all this stuff about Mario and clones him too, hence the resemblences.

So, there ya have it. Oh, and the Rose Town thing is a hoax, it's really just a local Zelda freak who also likes to dress up.

NAME: Count Koopula

thoughts: Seems to be mostly cameos and coincidences to me. Although that is quite a few enemies... Hyrule and the Mushroom Kingdom are probably on the same planet, if you could call it that.

NAME: zeldafan

thoughts: It's prolly just an easter egg, that the gaming designers put to reward those with a good eye. Also the same company who made mario made zelda.

NAME: Punisher

thoughts: See, Link and Mario have the same roles, Heros. Both have an enemy and a princess to save. Anyway, I believe that there is a connection, but it is very difficult to find. Link probbly found Rose Inn, rested and got all the Mario stuff and brought it back to Hyrule.

NAME: yoshizooka

thoughts: gormen and ingo are evil so thay can't luigi talon is bald and does not look a thing like mario I only played minish cap majoras mask and orcina of time but liketu in minish cap looked like a past over to me the craco camio looked more like yoshi and zelda is more peach and romani is daisy the smrpg camio must have been when link grew seven year's in orcina of time you don't exspect one sage to wach some guy sleep for sevan year's! *notes of fun* *samus aron also camios in smrpg* *and something like a cross over in akirby game called kirby and the mirror he and link both have a tool called the master sword?!?

NAME: Bowser Fan

thoughts: Wow, I knew there were some kinds of connections between Mario and Link, but I had no idea there were so many before looking at this case!!! (Samus was in MaRPG as well...) But anyway, I DO believe our suspicions are correct about these two heroes, that their worlds are connected somehow.

Now, I'm not sure how many of your are big trekkies out there (that means Star Trek fans, in case you didn't know), but this sort of thing reminds me of some stuff I've seen in mainly Voyager and the Next Generation. Whether it's a wormhole or some loop in time, the members of the Star Trek crew sometimes have contact with other worlds or dimentions, so that might be what it's like with Mario and Link. I mean, they're too different to live on the same planet, but too alike to have absolutely nothing to do with each other. There's some kind of strange hole in time and space where they can cross over, maybe without relizing it sometimes. That's pretty much the best way I can describe it. And if you don't know what I mean, just watch Star Trek. ..........No, it does NOT make you nerdy......

NAME: Romberguy

thoughts: Since Mario and Link were sleeping together in Rose Town Inn, they were also dreaming together. Dream World is the place where dreams go, and since Dream World was in danger yet again, Kirby, after saving Dream World, had a bit of a mishap in putting the Mario enemies where they belong. Oh sure, eventually they came back to the Mario games but Kirby left Shy Guy-esque Mask Mimics, Bob-omb-esque Bombites, and Pokey as well as the ones this site listed. Kirby's presence is recognized through one particularly inexplicable mistake: The Anti-Kirby, who appears in Level 7, Eagle Tower. Everything Mario in Zelda games was a Kirby mistake. These mistakes were as dramatic as modifying memories. Wart got a new identity (and new career). Same for Sale. Mario, Luigi, and Peach also forgot who they were. As for Bowser Pendants, Mario masks, Yoshi Dolls, and Mario portraits, they're just well-known fads. The only connection between the Mario and Zelda universe is the Kirby inter! ference. There's still one mystery though: Why was Link at the Rose Town Inn? The answer to that is pretty compicated. Firstly, in Oracle of Seasons, a popular Zelda game, the fourth dungeon is titled the "Dancing Dragon Dungeon" yet strangely, it doesn't have a dragon. This was yet another Kirby mistake. Hooktail was supposed to be the boss (and only dragon) of the dungeon, yet she fell victim to Kirby, who accidentally placed her in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. Had Hooktail been the boss, Sunken City would have become Petalburg. In Sunken City, Ingo makes another appearance as a complete vase obsessor. Where do you think Ingo got all of his priceless vases? Apparently he bought all the pots from the Stock Pot Inn of Majora's Mask. The Stock Pot Inn and the Rose Town Inn are allies who share their profits. Link always hoped of spending a night in the Stock Pot Inn, but instead stumbled across the Rose Town Inn. Delighted with the service there, he became even more h! opeful, and eventually made it to the Stock Pot Inn in Majora's Mask. So, you see, Link's presence there was a coincidence. Thus solves the mystery of the Mario/Zelda connection.

NAME: JaredThaJa

thoughts: I just Thaut of Something. Remember at the Begining of Paper Mario:The Thausand Year Door when the show the Older City that Existed where Rougesport currently is? Didn't it Kinda Look Like Hyrule and then Iremembered when it was Revealed that the Shadow Queen was Defeated by 4 Heros and imieadiatly I thaut of The 4 Swords Adventures, Could this be a Coincidence???

NAME: keenan

thoughts: Here is one theroy:

Maybe there is a portal connected between the two worlds?

(Mario and Zelda must obviously have a portal between realms, which explains why they snuck in each other's games.)

NAME: Mashroom Kindum

thoughts: Mario and Link's worlds depend on eachother. Nintendo, in my guessing, is doing it for the curiosity and action of the gamers. A kid who loves mario tries a Zelda game for the first time. All his friends like it too. Then he sees a slight glance of Mario and gets exited. It encourages the gamer to buy more to see if there are any more cameo apearances. - Mashroom Kundum

NAME: Zakor 1138 of Kamino

thoughts: Bowser wanted to rule the world in the past so he went back in time , all the way to Hyrule. He finds Goombas, Boos, Piranha Plants and chain chomps and brings them back to the present because there was too much evil. Thus, thats why he has them today. Then, Mario went back in time (in his time machine) to try to stop this from happening. On the way he fought evil creatures and saved people. Then Luigi, Yoshi and others came in another time machine to help Mario, thats why there are pictures of the crew in this world. They even met reletives of themselves.! Mario met Tarin,Talon and some bartender dude. Luigi met Ingo and Gorman. They even meet, what seems to be a Princess Peach relative! Unfortunatly, when they found Bowser, he had captured the Goombas and stuff, and even a bomb-omb and lakitu! Then he went back to the present. Fortunatly, in doing so, the people of Hyrule and such, did'nt have as many monsters terrorizing them. So they considered Bowser a hero! ! Oh, and so did Mario and the gang . Bowser Pendents are said to give you good fortune and luck, and keep evil away from you. (if they had only known.)

Link traveled into the future once and fought the enemies to remember what it was like fighting them. He got tired and before he went back home, he stayed a night in the Rose Town Inn.

Yoshi dolls were produced because when Yoshi came, they thought he was sooooo cute. Heh, nobody said Yoda or the Ewoks were that cute, except for Princess Leia. I cant believe she married Han Solo! Han can just.... Ooops, wrong franchise. (sorry, im a Star Wars freak) Oh and Mamu, is the great ,great, great etc. grandfather of Wart. I have no idea about Croco. And Master Hand made the Smash Bros. tournament with the best warriors he could find. (that were toys anyway.) He found Mario and Link.

End Transmission

NAME: Joseph Zardetto

thoughts: Well Nintendo does create both Zelda and Mario, also in Super Mario RPG Samus is found in Toadstool's Castle. But I also think that Nintendo wanted to test everyone and see if they could find them, or maybe... Hyrule is on the Mushroom World only Mario has never gone there and Link never went to the Mushroom Kingdom...

NAME: Bob Forebery

thoughts: Perhaps the Mushroom and Hyrule worlds are really close and Link went on a space mission and ended up in the Mushroom World. And Hyrule sent phrobes to the Mushroom NAME: jolteon of SPPf

thoughts: See, everybody's a Mario maniac. Even those people from Hyrule. They're just so obsessed with Mario, most likely because Mario's such a great guy.

Mario posters, paintings, masks, and mushrooms are incredible noteworthy Mario-related tokens. Also, there are quite a couple of people who are Yoshi or Bowser fans too. Why else would the Trendy Game have one in stock? Madam MeowMeow's beloved Bow Wow also shows how obsessive she is.

There are some people who go so far as to impersonate Mario characters. These would include Talon, Tarin, Malon, Cremia, Romani, Ingo, the Milk Bar's bartender, and Gorman as well as Sale and Mamu.

The presence of Goombas, Piranha Plants, Lakitu, Bomb-ombs, other Chain Chomps, and Boo Buddies are also due to these Mario-obsessive Zelda characters. Like Bow Wow, these people have welcomed Mario enemies as pets. However these pets either were eventually released or they ran away.

Now we come to the presence of Link at the Rose Town Inn. He was getting tired of these overobsessive Mario maniacs so he decided to take a rest in a place where few Mario-lovers could be found: A Mario game.

So, yes, there is a connection between the Mario and Zelda universes. However, outside of Super Smash Bros., we never see it. Hyrule, Mushroom Kingdom, Clock Town, Mabe Village, Rose Town, Kakariko, and the like can all be reached from each other. Specific directions just aren't specified.World and took pictures of people there. Then they got DNA of creatures and cloned them. (And made a Yoshi Doll)

thoughts: Note: Spoilers for some Zelda games Well, Mario and Zelda games do take place in the same world. The Mushroom Kingdom and Hyrule are divided by that ocean in The Wind Waker. It used to all be one big continent, but it was divided into two continents when old Hyrule was flooded and they created new Hyrule on the side that did not have what was to become the mushroom kingdom. However, most of the Mario cameos are just coincidence or Nintendo having fun.

NAME: Mario Man

thoughts: Well Mario and Link aren't the only two characters to be found in random games for instance: Samus was in Super Mario RPG, and Mario appears in lots of games like in Kirby: Mario, Luigi, Toad, Birdo and Peach are in the backround. So I don't think it's a counsidence Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and lots others have camios in all sorts of Mario or... ANY Nintendo game, so I think Nintendo's making us think a little when we play videogames!
