In 1995, Nintendo made the first ever "prequel" for the Mario series: Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.  And it introduced everyone's favorite plumber as nothing but a little baby.  That would be alright if Baby Mario stayed as being Mario's younger self.  However...... Clue 1 - Two Marios???? Baby Mario debuted in Super Mario Word 2: Yoshi's Island, for the SNES, and was clearly the younger version of the plumber you currently know and love. However the games Mario Golf and Mario Tennis, for the N64, Baby Mario was reintroduced. This new version of Baby Mario was clearly a bit older than the baby Yoshi cared for.  However, there is another thing that you couldn't help but notice.  BABY MARIO IS IN THE SAME GAME AS MARIO!!!!!!!!! So, how can Baby Mario, who was previous established as Mario's younger self, now be staring in games with the older Mario?  Is it some sort of time warp or does Mario have some offspring to take care of now?  Here is what you thought: NAME: Alex Minette thoughts: Well they did it for hilarious more then story. Now, if you'll exuse me, I need to research the 3rd or 4th possibility firsthand NAME: Ben Phillips thoughts: I think that baby mario is Mario's son and that Mario married Peach (which makes perfect sence) but Luigi and Daisy(who are actuly Mario and Peach's sister, brother, sisiter in law, and brother) traveled with the stork this time whith the air ship from super mario land (Daisy found it in tatanga's secret castle which tatanga did'nt use when when fighting mario and couldn't use the airship while Luigi and Diasy were celabrating baby luigi's birth who is actuly born before mario not a few minutes after) Mario and peach waited for baby mario at Yoshi's Island (the same place where SMW2YI took place.)When baby mario came there Mario thought he can train Baby Mario into batteling against bowser, Peach thought she can teach him about gardening at her garden in Subcon two (which was created by the 2nd subcons which wer created by frog fuccilus, mallow, and geno's special powers) Luigi thought that he can make him get rid of Mario and all his games and make him the star of! every game (even the ones that alredy star Mario)then get rid of him, and Daisy thought that she can make him Baby Luigi's official servent for the rest of his life (because Baby Luigi is prince of sarasaland since Baby Mario is now prince of the Mushroom kingdom) they quarreled for 4 years (which is 3 seconds in Mushroom time but 123 years and 2 days in real world time actuly I'm not sure about the real world time because I don't have the time to check if I'm right but I'm sure about the mushroom time) while that was hapening baby mario and baby luigi became 4 years old (because baby luigi ate a mushroom only edible to him that made him not be a year older until his father's brother's son is one year old which means they are twins except that Luigi is older by 1 second unlike mario and luigi, mario is older than luigi by 1 second) while turnig 4 years old they learned to play all of the sport games that Mario and co. learned when they both became 4 they started to yell t! heir first words (they learned to comunicate to each other by the baby mushroom yoshi language from a tribe of baby mushroom yoshi which live near the border of the mushroom kigdom and Dinosaur world, Yoshi's Island is near the Mushroom World border)like "hole in one" "four" my serve" and all the othe things baby mario and baby luigi say in the mario sports games (they learned them from the secret information the baby mushroom yoshi's) Mario, Luigi, Daisy, and Peach all heard them and saw that they didn't want to do their thing they wanted to do their thing they saw that they were playing all of the sport games they play they werent donig them perfctly they needed some training but good enough that they can compete in the worldwide sports battles which is a battle against all of the big name company's in sports games which nintendo and capcom seem to always win because they are on teams (the other teams cheats also the teames practise in the games we play )from then on every! nintendo charatcter from all of the mario sport games taught them how to play each game they were so good that they decided to be a last resort incase they lose their secret characters to the other teams (luckely them and cacom win when capcom wins they give th players backto nintendo because they do not own them) sometimes he wasn't a secret character and a regular character. The reason why Mario, Luigi, Daisiy, Peach, Baby Mario, and Baby Luigi don't age is because they didn't want to age so much that the baby mushroom yoshi's taught them a secret potion that didn't alow them to age ( Mario and co. now look just like thy were in the last game they were in the potion wears off if an enemy company deafeats and takes them over.) it was so popular that everyone that appears in more then one game took it even some enemy companys (except capcom of course.) Baby Mario and Baby Luigi play sports scince then when they first leared how to play. NAME: Shadow Mario thoughts: My thoughts? You DON'T want to know. Fine, if you insist. Ahem. Back in Yoshi's Island where our plumber started (dang bird) Baby Mario was just that... a baby. After the bizarre events (hey, an extremely fat Shy Guy sure is bizarre... sorry Gormet Guy fans) the mini plumber began growing fast. After about 30-50 years and being back from Brooklyn, the modern-day plumber wanted some "excitement". Hence, Mario Golf & Mario Tennis. BUT, they were one player short. So, Mario took his time machine from Mario's Time Machine, and went to his childhood. There, he found Baby Mario after Yoshi's Island. When the little tike was snoozing, Mario took him and went back to the future. Now they had one more player to fill the slots, though small. He proved to be great. Okay, seeya Monday! NAME: mariomania4354, da mario maniac yo!!! thoughts: mario probably needed another player for mario tennis and golf, so he used the time machine from mario's time machine to go back in time and invite himself, only younger NAME: Mr.Mario thoughts: It's possible that Mario Golf and Mario Tennis were simply spinoffs that had nothing to do with the storyline... The power of all those Nintendo characters from so many games opened a dimensional rift in the Mushroom Kingdom, allowing Baby Mario to get smart enough to play tennis, walk on his own, and be transported through time. Like you said the first baby mario was in yoshi's island. Now maybe Mario and Peach went out for a night of fun. Either that or it was like Brittney Spears and the one dude where they got married and divorced relly fast but before Mario and Peach divorced they well you know... Now nine months later peach had a baby. Mario felt he should help care for his own flesh and blood so he helped deliver the baby. Since he did that peach let him name the baby. He named him Mario Jr. Now peach thought it was best for the baby if he didn't grow up in the castle with bowser around and all so mario had to raise him. Also, SPOILERS TO THOSE WHO HAVE NOT COMPLETED YOSHI'S ISLAND YET, it said that a stork was bringing twins to a couple in the Mushroom Kingdom, BUT Mario was born in BROOKLYN. Besides that, Mario and Luigi are not twins, but Baby Mario and Baby Luigi are twins. There's the differences. I actually think that yes. Either Mario had a son with Peach, or there's actually a time warp pipe that you can go into and set the time you want to go to. Mario went inside, and went to his younger self. He brought him out to teach him some tricks. For, when you're young, you learn things better than when you're old. So, Mario's technically cheating, since he'd be improving his skills via a temporal imbalance. NAME: Deven711 thoughts: Baby Mario must be from the past. It must've all started when Ludwig Von Koopa built a time machine for his father, Bowser, so they could go back in time and destroy Mario when he was a baby. Well, Yoshi decided to go in and save Mario's baby form. So he sneaked inside Bowser's Castle, and went in the portal that Bowser went in (who accidently turned into a baby but was guided by Kamek). He managed to find Yoshi's Island and decided to take a little walk to calm him down. Then, Baby Mario fell from the sky with a map. Kamek must've attacked the stork that was carrying him and his brother (who had been captured by Kamek). Yoshi decided to get his friends to help him protect the baby. So they went on many adventures in many different places. And then they reached Bowser's Castle. They went in and found Bowser in baby form. He got angry that Kamek woke him up. So he beat up Kamek and fought Yoshi and lost. He then went gigantic and Yoshi defeated him again! Kamek got ! worried and rushed Bowser back into the present. Yoshi rescued Baby Luigi and the 3 went back to the present as well. After escaping from Bowser's Castle, he showed his friends the 2 babies and Mario chose the names Baby Mario and Baby Luigi. Yoshi and his friends started training the 2 and Baby Mario was trained better than Baby Luigi. So Baby Luigi wasn't in Mario Golf or Mario Tennis due to the fact that he was too young to play. But then, he became old enough to race with his older brother. And that's the story of the 2 babies. THE END NAME: Cosmic H thoughts: I think that Mario "got down to bidness" with Peach and had a baby that looked exactly like him. Same with Luigi and Daisy in mario Kart Double Dash. So Merlon got Scholar and Russ T. and they built a cloning machine that Mario and Luigi used, but later Bowser also used it 7 times before it exploded, creating the Baby Bowsers, Baby Mario, and Baby Luigi. NAME: Professor thoughts: Well, did they ever specify that the Baby Mario who starts in SMW 2 was indeed a younger version of Mario? In fact, I do not recall Nintendo ever specifying SMB 2 was a prequel, and I do believe it to be a sequel, hence the '2'. Therefore, i have formed a educated guess, or theory, on how Baby Mario and Mario himself are able to appear in the same games: Baby Mario inevitably must be the son of Mario. And so, the game SMB 2 is focused upon Mario's son, and in later games, he appears again, obviously older due to the N64 games being released at a later date than the Super Nintendo game. This is my extensively agitating explanation. What probably happened, but really dull: Nintendo screwed up. And Baby Mario,Jr., 8th, whatever, seems to be around 2 in Mario Golf, in 1999 so he would have to have been born round' 97, a year after Mario & Peach got hitched.(making sense?) What about Little Luigi's Return In Mario Kart:DD!! Well it's obvious, He's Luigi's kid.And Daisy's. Royalties Well, I'll bet you're saying, WHAT ABOUT THE CROWNS STUPID? Good Question. If Mario and Peach suppositly hitched what? 8 years ago, then why is Peach still the Princess and Mario still dancing for quarters as a plumber? We all know there's that rule ya know about "giving up your crown to marry a civilian" But Mario saved th princess so many times by now he's probably a knight, and can somehow marry Peach, But Probably They can't become King and Queen until a certain age, like maybe 25. So Peach will have to continue ruling under the eye of the chancellor. Uh... Baby Mario could have crawled through one that led to the present in the mushroom Kingdom. If this is true then he will crawl through another one that will take him back to his home, but the odds of this happening are very slim. Mario never knew of this untill he met Geno, who explained it all to him. Now Mario feels duty bound to continue the cycle & train his younger self, who in turn will train Baby Luigi. If he doesn't then Baby Mario will grow up to be an average person & never be able to perform all the heroric deeds that are required of him. This will alter the timeline severly. Then we would see a world in which Bowser rules the Mushroom Kingdom, Wart owns the Subcon, & Sarasaland is still under alien control. I imagine that these 3 rulers would make war on each other. Of course no one would be prepared for Smithy. It would be a sad world indeed. Theres just no set time frame in any of the multi character games, and theyre ment to be that way so you could see for yourself if Baby Mario could beat Mario/Lugi as adults. and anyway, what happened to baby Luigi from the end of Yoshi's Island?? Id like to see him in the future. After Superstar Saga, Mario decided to settle down and have a family. So, Mario married Peach, Yoshi married Birdo for some unknown reason, and Luigi married Daisy. Things were happy until Mario wanted "permanent company". So, Mario and Peach had a little "fun", and they had a kid. Mario, having no absolute idea what to name the kid, finally named him Mario Jr. Jr. is Baby Mario. Baby Mario is a crybaby. I wonder why. In conclusion, Baby mario is just a character and mario's past, not a different person. Not only that, if he starts training his younger self how to race and play tennis at that young of an age, later, he'll be AWESOME and kick everyone's tail at that. Baby Mario is indeed the younger version of Mario, who, in one of his failing plots, Bowser attempted to dispose of by sending him into the past. Of course he was only sent to the future instead. After a few games og Golf and Tennis, Mario sent Baby Mario back to the past so the timeline could continue on like normal. No harm done.
