In the Super Nintendo version of Mario, how do you exist the Enchanted forest level? I beat the Ghost House 2 different ways, but no I didn't get access to any new world. What gives?
~Joe
Sean Kelly: I don't think it's the ghost house you have to beat.
Kyle Orland: The guides page to the rescue! (link: http://www.smbhq.com/users/guides/forestof.htm) the key here is not the ghost house, but Foret of Illusion 3. The hidden exit is in a tall pipe near the end of the level. This should lead you to Roy's castle.
Jay Resop: What gives? You dare ask WHAT GIVES??? Beats me. Maybe you have a bad copy of SMW. You should return it to Nintendo and ask for a 100% full refund.-jay
PenguinMan: It's been too long since I played it. I know there
was some hidden switch you had to hit, but that's all
I remember. Try GameFAQs.
EAM: You need to go out the secret exit in Forest of Illusion 3. http://www.smbhq.com/users/guides/forestof.htm
Luigi128: I will give you a hint that may help. On any stage
that has a yellow circle indicating its location on
the map, there will be only one available exit.
However, on the stages that have a red circle
indicating their location, they will have two exits.
The Forest of Illusion has several stages with
multiple exits, and many of them lead to nowhere. Be
sure you inspect the entire thing.
PeachFan: Heh. It'd help if I knew what Super Mario World game you were talking
about (I'm guessing the original?)... and it'd probably help even more
if I'd gotten further than Donut Plains.
Peachfan's homework: Beat Super Mario World. And soon. While I'm at
it, maybe I should attempt beating all the other Mario games. Why
doesn't anyone ask questions about Mario RPG? I beat that one... -_-
Dear yous guys,
I couldn't help but notice that this year, 2005, is the 20th anniversary of Super Mario Brothers, the original N.E.S. game. If you could, I'd like to know the exact release date of the game, so I can host an awesome Mario Party! (pun!) Thanks in advance,
the cool yellow yoshi!
Sean Kelly: I believe it was October 10, 1985 (I was only 3 1/2 years old)
Kyle Orland: Well, Gamespot says October 1985 (link: http://www.gamespot.com/nes/action/supermariobros/), and that's the best date I can come up with. Game Over talks about the Nintendo crew working hard in the last quarter of 1985 to get displays of the NES and games up by Christmas, so it's sometime later i nthe year. I'll keep investigating.
Jay Resop: Smarch 32nd.-jay
PenguinMan: I think Mario would be older than 20 by now. Maybe
they should give him some gray fringes on his
sideburns or something. Also, the best Yoshis are
blue.
EAM: According to Game FAQs, September 9, 1985.
Luigi128: Well, according to TMK the release was in October. If
TMK doesn't know it to the day, you will probably have
a great deal of trouble finding out. But you could
just go ahead and celebrate anytime in October.
PeachFan: Mark your calendar, Cool Yellow Yoshi (I used to have a plush Yellow
Yoshi!), October 1st is when it got released in the US. That should
give you more than enough time to plan an awesome Mario Party (heheh).
Have fun!
(Editor's Note: 4 out of 7 said October (and 2 out of 7 joked around), so that would be the safe bet.
Hello. My name is Brady, and I'am the Mario Master....well....at least as far as my friends are concerned. I have a bit of info on the alleged Mario Anime, that I think you might find interesting, (unless you've heard it before, in which case, forget I said anything). For starters, it WAS released on video, the distributor was the now defunct, "Vap Video," and only a limited number of copies were made, (which is why most websites concerning this issue claim it was never released on video at all). It is still possible to get, (in Japan); only its HIGHLY unlikely due to the rarity of the item. Also, were one to be found today, chances are the quality would be extremely poor, due to age and mishandling. Your best bet would be to find a copy of the movie comic that supplemented the release of the film, those may just be easier to get. For more information, check out this website; 'it'll answer all your burning questions about this great debate, (except where to find a copy, of course), http://smbis.nescentral.com/commentary/marioanime.htm Thanks alot and keep up the good work.
"Thank you for to read my e-mail,"
Brady
Sean Kelly: Well, it looks like this case has FINALLY been closed.
Kyle Orland: Wow, that's really cool. I love those animation cel pictures. Thanks for the link.
Jay Resop: Mario Anime scares me to no end. "Thank you for to read my answer."-jay
PenguinMan: Thank you for the send the info.
EAM: Pretty cool.
Luigi128: Well, that's certainly interesting. I must admit, I
never really liked anime, though...
PeachFan: Mario Anime? How'd I miss this? *visits the link* And the guy who
voiced Mario voiced Tuxedo Kamen, in Sailor Moon! Oh god! It's like
heaven! The mixing of my two favorite things, Mario and Sailor Moon!
Brady, you are my new best friend. Thank you for sharing this
information with us! ^_^
Where can I get these beanies??????????? Any information would be so appriciated! Thanks
Angel
Sean Kelly: I would say, but it has already been said.
Kyle Orland: eBay.
Jay Resop: (Tries to think of an answer that doesn't involve e-bay). Try google. Or amazon.-jay
PenguinMan: Beanies? Like the ones with the little propeller on
the top? I don't know if they make those any more.
EAM: Try ebay.
Luigi128: Um... eBay?
PeachFan: Wow, the Nintendo Beanies are really old now... *thinks* It's been 8
years since they've been released! Wow, I feel old. Anyhow, the best
place to get them is Ebay. Or, if you're looking for the little plush
Mario Party characters, you might find them in a Japanese specialty
store. That's where I found my Peach plush, got her for $15 there,
although I've seen the plushes go for as high as $40. But check Ebay.
Happy hunting!
Why dont they put a game where there is 5 teams and 2 heros on each team. Here is the story idea. Cactalla is back and gets 10 heros in a tournment while she tries to take over the world.
Teams Heros
----------- ---------
Mario Bros Mario and Ludgi
Wario Bros Wario and Waludgi
Team D.K D.K and Diddy
Team Yoshi Yoshi and Birdo
Team Evil KoopaKid and Boo
P.S Its like Mario and Ludgi SuperStar Saga but 3-D.
- Gary White
Sean Kelly: Uhhh...Nintendo has too many Mario "team" games coming out already.
Kyle Orland: A lot of people have panned Shark Boy and Lava Girl in 3D because it reads like it was written by a seven year odl. It was -- the director's son is listed as the screenplay author. This idea reads like it was written by a seven year old.
Jay Resop: I wish there was a baseball team called Team Evil. It could have a picture of someone taking candy from a baby for the hat logo. And their uniforms could be on fire all the time. That would rule.-jay
PenguinMan: Maybe you post this on the forums where you can
discuss your AMAZING idea in a more engaging manner.
Or get ridiculed, I don't know.
EAM: And the point of this is?
Luigi128: Well... Amen!
PeachFan: Poor, poor Luigi... he's so neglected, people can't even spell his
name right. And I'm guessing you mean Cackletta, right? And last I
knew... Birdo wasn't a Yoshi. Maybe use different colored Yoshis?
And maybe instead of Team Evil, make a Team Princess. With Princess
Peach and Princess Daisy. The world needs more games with Princess
Peach in them. Ohh, I can't wait until Super Princess Peach gets
released... Anyhow, this sounds like an interesting idea. Who knows,
maybe it'll get released. (Editor's Note: Birdo was previously Yoshi's doubles partner in Mario Tennis)
Hi! I was re-exploring SMB 3 with my younger brother and I can’t seem to remember how to/ where/ what the save points are. Little help please?
Thanks TDD and AJD
Sean Kelly: I hate to break this to you, but there are none. To my knowledge, the only non-RPG NES game that allows you to save is Kirby's Adventure
Kyle Orland: Are you playing on an NES? If so, there are no save points. On the SNES Super Mario All Stars version, just pause the game and choose "save and continue." On the game boy re-release you can do the same thing.
Jay Resop: In order to reach a save point in SMB3, you must first beat a level with exactly 55 coins and 55 seconds left on the timer. You then must press the button combination Left Right Up Down B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B A. A new level called Booyaville will appear on the screen. Go into Booyaville and Captain Caveman will appear to let you save your game.-jay
PenguinMan: You young whippersnappers expect all games to be so
easy. When I was your age, I had to beat SMB IN ONE
SITTING and the most you got for it was a level
skip/difficulty increase that went away after you shut
it off.
EAM: The original NES game can't save. In Allstars on SNES and the Mario
Advance remake on GBA you can get to the save menu by pressing start.
Luigi128: I'm relatively sure that you can bring up a menu of
which you have the options to save & continue, save &
exit, and exit without saving. This menu also appears
when you defeat a mini-boss or a boss.
(Editor's Note: Save menu appears after a boss??? What game are you playing????)
PeachFan: *tries not to laugh* Uh, there are no save points in Super Mario
Brothers 3. If you have to stop playing for a while, and you're on an
original NES, my suggestion to you is to just pause your game, and
disconnect the NES from the back of the TV, so you can watch TV while
your game's paused. I used to do that while playing other games that
can't be saved. Just make sure you leave your NES on, and leave it
plugged into the wall. Otherwise all your hard work will be lost.
Okay I have been playing Super Mario Bros. and I am in the Lost Levels. I am currently on World 8-3 or 8-2 I can't remember, but anyways, Once Mario gets to the end there are to ledges and a pipe with a guy in it and to the very right of the screen is the tower of blocks....they blocks are so high that Mario can't reach them even when he's big. The pipe leads you down to a Bonus Room with tons of coins and hanging green pipes with guys in them... I can't seem to figure out what to do! Please help....
Thanks!!!
Frustrated Mario Player
Sean Kelly: It's been years since I've played Lost Levels. Maybe one of the other guys can help.
Kyle Orland: **Sits there idlely**
Jay Resop: First, you have to hit the guy with the thing. And then you have to do the thing to the other guy with the first thing, but before that other guy does that thing with the thing. Then it will do this and that and that guy will do it over and over until you do this and that before the last guy does that thing. Understand?-jay
PenguinMan: Man, don't even get me started about the Lost
Levels.
EAM: 8-2: This level is tricky because the exit is elsewhere. Use the falling
platform to reach a brick with a mushroom. Use the spring to get on the wall
then jump onto some steps. keep moving and go past the Koopa Paratroopa but
don't scroll past it. Stand on the brick on the right and let the Hammer
Brother fall to its death then bounce off the Koopa Paratroopa and reveal a
beanstalk that leads to the flagpole. If you mess up, go to the end and go
down the bonus pipe and try again.
(from http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/fds/file/super_mario_bros_2j_d.txt)
Luigi128: Ah, yes. That level. I believe that there is an
invisible block somewhere close beneath the block up
in the air. Check in the area close to the block, it
should be somewhere near...
PeachFan: Dear Frustrated Mario Player,
I haven't actually played Lost Levels yet. I know, I'm a lousy Mario
fan. So I'm not much help. I'm sorry.
Hey i was wondering what the music notes and the cloud do in Mario 3 and how are they used?
Thanks,
Liz
Sean Kelly: The notes make you jump and the cloud makes you skip.
Kyle Orland: The music boxes put the koopa troopas on the map to sleep. relatively useless. The cloud lets you skip a level but be careful... if you die on the next level you will be brought back and might have to complete teh skipped level after all.
(Editor's Note: He said NOTES not BOX)
Jay Resop: The music notes are used to download illigal songs online. The cloud is for turning Mario into the Printer/Copier/Scanner/Fax-Machine Combo Suit. (http://www.smbhq.com/nc/short37.gif)-jay
PenguinMan: If you hit EVERY ONE in the game, at the end when
you fight Bowser, he challenges you to a
guitar-playing contest.
EAM: Music boxes put the hammer bros on the map to sleep. The cloud lets you
skip over a level, but it does not clear it.
(Editor's Note: NOTES!!!!!!! HE SAID NOTES!!!!!!!!)
Luigi128: Well, the cloud lets you skip a level. I don't exactly
remember what the music note does, it's been a little
while since I played that game. You use them by
bringing up a little menu on the map screen, but I do
not remember which button you press to do so.
PeachFan: I don't remember a cloud in Mario 3, maybe the guys do? But the music
note blocks make you jump high, and if you land on a pink one, it
sends you to a secret area loaded with coins. And coins are always a
good thing.
(Editor's Note: FINALLY, someone gets it right!)
Dear Sirs,
I am interested in ordering some of the Mario
figurines. I would like four, Peach, Daisy, Mario and
Luigi. Could you tell me if I can order these, if so
how much do they cost and how long will it take to
arrive?
I am trying to plan a birthday party for March 26th
and my son wants a mario party. Do you have any other
items such as birthday decorations or plates?
Thank you
Debbie Stobaugh
Sean Kelly: What do we look like? The SMB Party Store? And, please don't send letters that need an answer by a certain date.
Kyle Orland: We have no such items. Try eBay.
Jay Resop: (Tries to think of a site besides e-bay. Head explodes.)-jay
PenguinMan: Well, Mario party favors and toys aren't as common
as you'd think, although there are shirts out the
wazoo. But then again, it doesn't matter anyway, since
Sean is a lazy bum.
(Editor's Note: No, I just have a large backlog)
EAM: Try ebay.
Luigi128: Well, we don't sell 'em.
PeachFan: Uh, as far as I know, we don't sell Mario stuff. And if we did,
anything with Peach on it- MINE. I am the Peach fan, after all. If
you really need Mario figurines, check Ebay. But good luck finding
anything with Peach and Daisy on it- it's hard as heck finding
anything with our favorite princesses on it. Also, you might have
luck finding Mario-related party goodies on Ebay, too. I'm pretty
sure around the time Mario 64 was released, there may have been Mario
party goodies. I know there was Pokemon goodies up the wazoo, might
have been the same with Mario. Good luck on your search! And if you
do happen to find any Peach figurines, lemme know. ^_^
What up!!! Your site is crack. I have an important question. What sound
equipment did Koji Kondo use to make Super Mario Brothers 3?
"An adult is a child who has more ethics and morals. That's all" - Shigeru
Miyamoto (designed the super mario brothers games)
Balsam Etheridge
Sean Kelly: He used the hizzle in the fashizzle nizzle (translation: I don't know)
Kyle Orland: Our site is crack? Uh, word up!
I've heard that Kondo-san useda simple synthesizer to compose his tracks, but I don't remember where I heard that from. It may be apocryphal.
That's a great quote, by the way.
Jay Resop: I'm glad you think our site is crack. Koji Kondo used a MPXBMPGGT2300 With Extra Woofers, Tweeters, Splinters, and Thrashers.-jay
PenguinMan: This site is WHAT?! We do not participate in any
illegal substance usage here, no siree. How DARE you
insinuate such rude baseless allegations. You'll be
hearing from my laywer!
EAM: Crack \Crack\, v. i. 2. To be ruined or impaired; to fail. [Collog.]
[1913 Webster]
Luigi128: No Clue.
PeachFan: Uh, maybe this one shoulda been sent to the Mushroom King. You might
have dethroned him with this one, heheh. Because I honestly have no
clue what sound equipment he used. I'm just the new girl, who
specializes in Princess Peach.
Oh, and Shigeru Miyamoto is my hero. ^_^
(Editor's Note: Speaking of which, I haven't heard from the Mushroom King in ages. Maybe I should give him a little nudge.)
One final word from Jay Resop: Captain...CAAAAAAAAAAVEMAN!-jay
