The end of another year approaches, and I'm this close from making a withdrawal of $300+ from my bank account so I can get a GameCube and Smash Bros. Melee! (That is, of course, including sales tax.)
I'll save myself the embarrassment of the white rapper jokes and just give you the first letter by "Shaolin":
| OK I have a ? about the NES game Super
Mario Bros 3. In which World's and part's does the enemy "Fire Chomp" appear in? I would like to know ASAP. Thanx. Your site roxx |
| Dave: Your first encounter is in World 5-6, then in 5-9, and lastly in 6-7. |
Mike: Fire Chomp was that
flying Chain Chomp thing that shot fireballs at you, right? ROB: I believe so. Mike: It annoyed me. |
Next up from Taylor:
| A question about Mario Segali, the inspiration for our favorite plumber (well, mine, anyway...neglected, my arse.) Where is he now?! Still in the warehouse biz? Retired? Dead? Stuck in a messy legal battle with Shigeru Miyamoto? Inquiring minds wanna know! |
| Dave: Inquiring minds may want to know, but they're not going to know from me. Reason: I don't know myself. |
Mike: Nor do I. ROB: I don't either. |
Now a question that's already been answered:
| they say that on super smash brothers
melee there is 20 new people plus more people from the mario universe is
it true that bowser and boo is on it, if so can you tell me some of
bowsers moves? michael carter |
| Dave: You need the link on my page entitled "Super Smash Bros. Melee". It's still being updated. Next update is scheduled for 10 December. |
Mike: Bowser is in it, for
sure. But I really doubt Boo is in it. I mean, he's not exactly what one
would call, you know... a solid mass. Sure, we have your Kirby and your
stupid little freak Jigglypuff, but they're alive and capable of hitting
people. Also, Boo has no legs. That's a major stumbling block for him
being a playable character. But that's cool, I'm looking forward to
fighting Bowser with Ness. ROB: Ness=Good. Jigglypuff=Bad. Boo=Dead. Bowser=Menacing. Mike P=Sad little boy. |
Let's hear from Kim now:
| Hi Dave, My son would like to know if anyone makes toys of the Mario characters other than Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and Bowser? He is interested in Kamek, Hammer and Boom-Boom. Can you help us figure this mystery out? Thanks for your time and have a Happy Holiday! |
| Dave: No can do. There were no toys made for Kamek, Boom-Boom, or the Hammer Bros. |
Mike: Alas, the neglected
characters are always neglected. ROB: And Mike P thinks being redundant is funny. |
Maybe I shouldn't wonder about certain people's pseudonyms because they somehow make sense:
| In Super Mario 64, in wet-dry world,
there are several black spheres at ground level in the ‘town’ that are
supposed to shoot fire, but don’t supposedly because of the water. I’ve wondered why they were there ever since I got the game 5years ago…. Thanks for any ideas you may get ;-) -Chemical Child |
| Dave: When the water level is at the lowest, it will shoot fire. |
Mike: And you shouldn't play
with fire. ROB: Unless if you shoot it. |
And almost lastly from T. Mac:
| To the Mario mailbag, As I went through your site, what do I spy in the SSS section? Those really cool looking sprites of Ganon, Shiek, and Captain Falcon. Is there any way I can get a copy of them? I would really appreciate it. :D |
| Dave: Those "sprites" were either (a) doctored by sprites from other characters or (b) hand-made like a fine glass vase. If you have MS Paint you can go ahead rip off the one who made it, or you can ask the head of that section and he may give them to you. |
Mike: Or you could also try to
make your own sprites. With a good amount of skill it can be done. ROB: Mike P only has a good amount of skill, but a very small amount of patience. So he can't do that. |
Lastly from a fake Mewtwo... wait, aren't they all?
| Dear Dave, About the two extra levels per world, you know, the ones with the "?" over them, how do I get those levels? |
| Dave: The first "?" is the Extra level, the second "?" is one of the six Bonus Challenges you get if the Goal Roulette stops on a flower. |
Happy New Year, everyone!
