Letter number one is from ryan_the_bad@hotmail.com:
| Who played Mario in the 1993 motion
picture Super Mario Brothers? I have a list of three people who might have played Mario... One of the names is right... John Leguizamo, Bob Hoskins or John Goodman. I don't have the answer, but I bet you do. |
Of course I do! I remember clearly Luigi was played by Leguizamo, and Goodman was not cast, so Mario was Bob Hoskins.
The next one is from mcg@iquest.com:
| Hello i came across your site and it is
by far the best site that i have come across. I have a question that i jsut cannot get answered anywhere. In SUPER MARIO LAND, the first game for Super Nintendo, How many LEVELS are there to beat ? I have been playing non stop for the last couple days and now i wanna know how many there is. Right now i am at 94 . How many are left after that ? |
Uhhhh... there are only 12 levels in SML, and it's for GB. Where are you getting the 94 from? BTW, have you hugged your Grammar Check lately, and noticed that I am not the head of SMBHQ?

| There is a way to knock
the turtles in Super Mario Bros. against something in
such a way that you continue to bounce on them, and it keeps racking up your score until you start getting extra lives. When I was younger I remembered how to do this but have since forgotten the secret behind turtle tips. Could you refresh me? It's been a while since my lives have been in the symbols. Thanks |
Sure! And BTW, ¡Muy Bien! The question couldn't have been
asked better.
At the end of 3-1, you will see two Troopas descending the
staircase. Ignore the first one and jump on the second while he
is almost on the edge on a step, and jump as vertically as you
can on him. You should rack up points, and past 8000 pts, one
life per stomp.
Now, all the way to Norway for a letter from es.hans@online.no:
| (ed. note: the message originally didn't
come with numbers beside the questions, but I did that
for clarity) 1. When do you think a new Mario game will come? Is this good enough? PLEASE don't pit me in the haul
of shame. I just Yours sincerely, |
Haul of Shame? That only goes to people who do not
give me a clear question. You, on the other hand, ask too many.
But that's OK, I allow that. Now for the rest of your questions,
in order:
1. The next Mario game coming out in the U.S. will be Mario Party
2. Blistered palms rejoice! No more swinging that blasted
joystick!
2. I'd leave that for Unsolved Mysteries, but Kyle
already did that. On the main page is a section called "Mysteries",
go to case #2.
3. Super Mario USA (SMB2, and I'm not Japanese. I just want to
distinguish the difference between SMB2 and SMB:TLL)
4. It did. Royally.
5. You don't have to, but that's for the level select.
6. I'm pretty sure about that once the Dolphin comes out.
7. That I'm not sure about. Your guess is as good as mine.
Now we hear from Edman2001X@aol.com:
| I have 2 questions for you: 1. Is there really a "Luigi code" for Super Mario 64? 2. Can you give me info on Super Mario 64 II? Thanks, Edman 2000X1@aol.com |
1. Let me say this loud and clear, because the next person who asks me this is getting put in the Haul:
THERE IS FOR SM64!
THERE NEVER WAS, NEVER IS, AND NEVER WILL BE!
2. Any info I have on SM64II would be pure speculation, and no hardcore facts. All I can say is I think SM64II won't be on the 64.
This last one comes from Anonymous:
| Hey, Dave! Do you know where I can
purchase a copy of the Super Mario Bros. movie on VHS? Thanks for your help! |
I think your best bet would be to take a look at your local Blockbuster and ask where you might be able to buy it. I don't think Toys R Us would have it, but you never know with them.
That's it for December. Check back in
February, because that's where I will post the January issue.
"Why? I Don't Know, he's on third, and I Don't Give a Darn!"
